I don't know AFC or costs here. Just casually following to see if anything comes of the PHE kit, then trying to be open-minded with the various views good or bad.

I can see there are some I's to dot and T's to cross, but typically it seems some have an agenda beyond reasonable debate.

I don't follow AFC except as an adjunct to other interests so I could easily have missed it. This gives an idea of the levels of purity generally required. I guess from this, PHE has to produce Type I D which is 99% pure as that's the standard for fuel applications. Do they? Who knows? And if they said they did, how would you know it wasn't just another of KA's fantasies?

Regarding the crumb, it's not just the cost, although that's the most important thing, it's also total energy consumption, and waste eg CO2 production end-to-end that counts. No good having a clean bit in the middle if you've exported all the pollution to other steps in the process.

super....

Yes but, AFC stated last August that they do not need pure hydrogen, are able to use industrial hydrogen.. ie Chlorine production hydrogen byproduct ....

I can't find the article...it was in one of Bonds quarterly newsletters also on LSE

The tyre question is a good one....everything comes down to cost when producing energy, how much does the PHE cost to run.....

beez - I'd be interested to know where you got that figure from. The AFC FC used to require 99.999% purity, but they claim to have made it less sensitive recently, but without giving any figures.

If they achieved say a tenfold improvement, to 99.99%, then if you're correct, PHE has to cleanse their output gas by two orders of magnitude to feed it into their FC.

This is the sort of thing the company should be stating clearly, or, more importantly, getting somebody to verify independently.

Does anybody know how much energy it takes to convert tyres to crumb suitable for input to this gadget?

I spoke to an MM at and event recently where I said 90% of nomads and MMS seem corrupt at times. He corrupted me quite soberly to 100%.

So if you think an MM would want anything looked at that you'd be mistaken.

I did note that when Warwick reported what were dodgy looking trades the share price took a spike up so I suspect the MMs had been naked short.

I suspect it hasn't ended there. I've got some reports in myself on others but they can't update those that submit reports for obvious reasons.

Warwick claims to be a Chartered Financial Planner yet had to be educated about the legal restriction on paying dividends when a company such as PHE has over £50 million of accumulated losses.

He continually posts that the company is debt free until I have to remind him that the company still has £1.4 million convertible loan outstanding.

Again this Chartered Financial Planner called be a liar for stating that there was a 7 year payback period for a 25 tpd unit. Never got a word of apology when I had to point out that it was the company stating the 7 year payback period Iman Investors Presentation on its website.

I wonder why no analysis is allowed unless certain posters approve?? Well we all saw what happened on the CTAG board!8

Thanks for your very effective demolition of warwick's Trumpian assertions that I am openly accusing KA of being a con man. Warwick should read my last post more than superficially to read what I actually implied or said outright, which was
that
KA was
1) not very scientific

2) enthusiastic to the point of self deception.

3) has not yet produced any evidence to support his full claims for the equipment he has been developing courageously for 10 years

3) that his video only suggested possible success for a short time in gasifying a very specific input waste

4) that the inevitable amateur status of Chester Councillors made it almost certain that their scrutiny was unlikely to have been rigorous enough to validate the process for general acceptance.

5) TOO MUCH REPETITION OF ANY ASSERTION AMOUNTS TO DECEPTION.

It has been the stuff of politics at its worst throughout the last two centuries and is poLluting our lives more than ever before.

Furthermore several other posters have rightly deduced prima facie, that the trials in Switzerland , Australia, and elsewhere, etc were failures. It belies credibility that any success could each time have lead to abandoning several years of local support (Cash and Cheering) for a change of continent.

As superg rightly points out I admit to having been naive and suckered by a dozen experiences of failure in AIM (not only from outright frauds like Globo and BioProgress/Meldex, but also from failed hopes of brilliant entrepreneurs like Oliver Iny CEO of Wiggins at Marston Airport (who I am distressed to read today died in May, in Dublin).

It is a good thing in life to see each tumbler containing water as half full rather than half empty. There are inevitable disappointments but life is on the whole sweeter.

Warwick should substantially reduce his/her(?)multiple ad nauseam, assertions and gain respect by substituting some evidence or at least logical reason for them - other than wanting a millionaire's return from the most extreme risk I have seen anyone admit to on AIM in twenty years of investing.

Finally my apologies for repeating this but it is apt here: investors would be wise to remind themselves "that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it probably is a duck"

I would love this to succeed but can hear distinct quacking in the distance.

It appears that poster warwick69, who has previously disclosed he is the large PHE shareholder Paul Warwick, may have today accused PHE market makers of using avatar names to post negative comments about PHE on internet discussion boards including on ADVFN.com (post copied below) in an attempt to influence the market.

Please pass these comments to the PHE market makers, so they can decide whether there may be a case of libel to answer. No accusation intended.

For some reason PHE has attracted a considerable number of bashers my guess is these are linked to the market makers as a general rule they always run slightly short positions on their books so they always need sellers hence keep a share disruptive so not too many new followers cause a painful rally!

Every now and again when we do attract new buyers or when I have been extending my large holding they let the price run up increasing their average price higher for the short once the excitement dies down they mark it down knowing we have been bought by short term momentum traders and T5 etc and seeking stops!

I believe they use these secret avatars as ways and means to stifle and disrupt any decent debate

No wonder we will go ballistic being able to produce pure Hydrogen from a load of old toxic rubbish that is slowly killing the planet As Keith stated at the rate of disposal of plastic getting into the oceans the total weight of plastic will exceed all life in the ocean by 2050 Now why would all the negative posters want this to continue unabated when we have a waste to energy/hydrogen solution to help stem the tide? Greenpeace et al could go hunting for plastic in the oceans and convert it to energy

FURTHER READINGToyota Mirai review: A futuristic, super-smooth hydrogen fuel cell carAn 80,000lb (36,288kg) Class-8 tractor-trailer combo using a development fuel cell drivetrain from two small Toyota Mirai sedans? Surely, I've been dropped into the way-far future of Logan's Run. But no, it turns out Toyota's future-trucking idea resides at California's Port of Long Beach, where 18,630 shipping container units get processed per day. That's almost one in five containers moving anywhere in the entire United States. In shipping terms, Long Beach is to shipping what Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson is to airports, making it the largest and likely best test lab for such a project. Two years ago, Toyota began secretly testing a hydrogen fuel cell system alternative to the conventional diesel powertrain for heavy Class-8 trucks. Called "Project Portal," this system is intended for drayage (short-haul movements), shuttling shipping containers between Los Angeles and Long Beach ports plus other freight depots. Toyota is the first major car company to dip a toe in the fuel cell trucking waters, and it could eventually market the powertrains to various truck manufacturers nationwide or through its own Hino truck division. (Toyota used a Kenworth to demonstrate the powertrain; however, Hino does not make a Class-8 rig.)Though other companies have researched either electric or fuel cell heavy-duty trucking-Mercedes placed medium-duty trucks in controlled fleets this year in Europe, for example-none have pulled the fuel cell trigger in the US.Why? Some emissions basicsCarbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, sulfur dioxide, and other pollutants are all byproducts of diesel trucks, scores of which concentrate at the Port of Long Beach. And these vehicles operate day and night. Air quality in the immediate vicinity of Long Beach has always been poor, a byproduct of the billions of dollars' worth of goods funneling through the vast complex. And since short-haul trucks need not have immense range between refueling, it made this particular lab experiment the right one to prove the zero-emissions truck concept for Toyota. According to some studies, more than 30 percent of California's NOx emissions come from commercial heavy-duty vehicles. Because hydrogen fuel cell powertrains produce no tailpipe emissions, they are a very attractive solution despite infrastructure limitations for hydrogen fuel. This could lead to further research in other heavy-duty Class-8 usage, but only once the limitations of an absent distribution network of hydrogen fueling stations is resolved. For the Port of Long Beach, though, Toyota's installing a hydrogen refueling station on-site.Diesel no moreThe Portal Project truck uses a Kenworth T660 chassis and body because it represents a fairly common drayage truck. Toyota fits two Toyota Mirai drivetrains running in series, with two fuel cell stacks linked up to two batteries and two motors. Battery output from the pair of connected lithium-ion units is 12kW total, and the Mirai stacks generate 114kW each. Total system power equates to 670hp (500kW) and 1,325lb-ft (1,796Nm) of torque, roughly equivalent to the latest Cummins diesel in use today. Also, Toyota claims the rig can maintain speed on uphill grades of up to 12 percent."The two Mirai power control units sit in front, with two fuel cell stacks side by side under the cabin," said Takehito Yokoo, Toyota's senior executive engineer for advanced fuel cell development. "Four hydrogen tanks are installed behind the cab where the truck's sleeping berth would normally be located. The connected batteries are also located near the tanks because there is ample space there, especially when there is no sleeping berth [which is not needed for short-haul duties]." As part of ongoing development, Toyota will look to relocate that conjoined battery lower in the chassis."Mating the two power systems together requires a lot of software development and ensuring communications between components in the right way," Toyota's Craig Scott, director of the advanced technologies group, told us. "The big variable in this project is basic engineering, like where to place the major components-the tanks, the battery, the stacks, the hydrogen pumps-but the nice thing with it being a Class-8 truck is that there's lots of room. It's a large canvas. This is really just the first step in our proof-of-concept to marry these powertrains into this body and be able to perform and tow at the standard of a diesel without any consideration for optimization."These fuel cell stacks are also far smaller than batteries that store electricity, the kind that would be used in a plug-in electric truck. In addition, refueling here is far briefer than recharging batteries, and the truck can do 200 miles fully loaded to 80,000lbs (36,288kg) before needing to refuel.Since fuel cells operate at around 90 degrees Celsius, where an internal combustion engine runs at a maximum of about 300 degrees Celsius, cooling needs are vastly different, including having an entirely different surface area to cool. Therefore, Toyota uses two Mirai heat exchangers."We'll monitor those temperatures and other data through telemetry during development,' notes Scott. "We're treating this like any other vehicle development program, actually. The next phase will see multiple computers inside the cab of the truck to log data and monitor conditions as it's tested."With infrastructure needs addressed-again, this is no small feat-eventual implications for this type of fuel cell power for commercial trucking could eventually expand greatly. Toyota may be progressing this market toward a watershed moment.

Anyway back to the subject of PHE we seem to be attracting a few more buyers today? I don't think it will take much to tick this up There was some good discussion about the Hydrogen economy on LSE over the weekend and I am sure more and more will pick up on how beneficial this will be to PHE Leeds city are looking at boosting use of Hydrogen You should see the massive disruption that Hydrogen fuel cell driven supertrucks will occur in the US who are way ahead of UK on using Hydrogen as a fuel One fuel cell truck will increase revenue by $30,000 over equivalent diesel truck That will create huge demand from hauliers
