Kavango Resources (KAV LN) 2.0p, Mkt Cap £3.1m – Kavango selects new targets for 1,000m drill campaign

Kavango Resources has signed a contract mobilising a number of drill rigs to test targets in Botswana.

The drill program is for three vertical holes covering 1,000m on the Kalahari Suture Zone ‘KSZ’

The team plan to intersect conductor targets at depths of between 200m and 400m.

To save time and cost, the holes will be pre-collared to approximately 150m with reverse circulation drilling followed by diamond core drilling for better information on the geology below this point.

Management are hoping to find mineralisation in a 10km x 6km magnetic anomaly, which is interpreted as a potential magma chamber.

The other two targets relate to significant linear magnetic and conductive structures.
Water will be trucked in from a local town.

Conclusion: Botswana hides many interesting mineral discoveries under a significant depth of Kalahari desert sand.

Kavango hopes the use of modern remote sensing techniques will help it pinpoint mineralisation in anomalies of significant scale under the sand.

While drilling these targets feels a bit like wildcatting in the oil industry investors can rest assured that target generation is supported by a thorough analysis of the latest data.

Always a huge avoid for me when shameless rampers go off citing other companies to try and promote POS stocks. Means they can't cite anything about the share itself.

Noirua is a long standing shameless ramper of RRR and RGM, Bell's other 2 companies that have been utterly devastated by relentless dilution and preposterous levels of expenses. That's another huge avoid for me.

Shareguru ramps this relentlessly on LSE, always trying to sweep under the carpet the fact that Bell is the Chairman and instead just promoting the merits of Johnson. Poor show.

All very laughable to me personally.

Metal tiger was like this to start with hovered around 0.5p
But then climbed to 6p before comming right back to 1p.
I feel power has alot more going for it, they have 4 excellent projects
On the go hopefully a further one soon. Paul Johnson is calling the shots
Picking up bombed out price wise acreage, which could be worth a fortune
When drilled.

An enthusiastic podcast, in header, as usual from PJ. If I hear those words "Metal Tiger" many more times I'll start writing silly posts like kemche - it wont happen of course. Getting back to basics, POW has ZERO income with cash exiting steadily and no chance of income in the short term.

The market cap is low at £1.49 million but somehow it is still too high. Would like to see an asset producing income as with RRR where at least they can sell the crown jewels worth more than the market capitalisation.

Has one of the best directors for this type of situation in PJ though MTR shares are on the floor years after he left them. So it does not look spiffing and Thor also on the floor with RGM.

Might be worth taking an interest in Red Rock Resources RRR if PJ has the faith past rhetoric indicates in director Andrew Bell in relation to Africa. The Kenya gold interest is close to having a mining license returned and Musonoi Area 1 near Lubumbashi, DRC, looks to be close to a JORC Resource. Otherwise POW is set to drift with 0.3p - 0.35p a short term target.

We are in a weak market place for micro-cap explorers and particularly for those with no income or quoted shares that are easily marketable. POW are not yet in a position to sell any assets.

Kavango’s three projects in Botswana offer an excellent diverse potentialfor the discovery of nickel-copper-PGE, copper-silver and rare earth deposits. Listed on the Main Board of the London Stock Exchange (Standard List) - (KAV.L)

The Kalahari Suture Zone (KSZ) Project, a 450km long N-S magnetic structure of continental proportions, is a large scale nickel, copper, cobalt and PGE group
exploration project in the southwest of the country. It is similar in its geological
setting to the giant Norilsk deposits in Siberia. Kavango recently completed two phases of airborne electromagnetic surveys covering over 4,000 line-kms in the northern part of the KSZ. Numerous conductor anomalies were identified and located on the ground; drilling of the most prospective targets is planned for late Q3 / early Q4 2019

The Ditau Camp Project (Ditau) is a 7km long magnetic body with corresponding geochemical and gravity anomalies approx. 50km west of the KSZ structure. It is one of 10 significant ring structures in the two Ditau licences. Two recent drill holes and the discovery by Falconbridge of a carbonatite in the area indicate a large area of alkali intrusive bodies. Carbonatites are generally associated with rare earth minerals. Whilst the Company continues to add value to the project with some low cost (within the current budget) geophysical surveys at Ditau, the medium term plan is to attract a joint venture partner.

The Kalahari Copper Belt (KCB) extends in a northeast-southwest direction for at least 1,000 km from western Namibia to north-eastern Botswana. The KCB contains known sediment-hosted copper-silver deposits two of which are currently being developed into mid-tier copper-silver mines. Kavango will carry out geophysics surveys and soil sampling to identify copper hosting anticline structures. The KCB Project is the subject of a recently signed MOU with a private Botswana company, who hold two strategic but unexplored PLs in the KCB area, whereby Kavango can earn an interest in the two licences by spending funds on exploration.

Conclusion

Kavango’s three projects in Botswana, the Kalahari Suture Zone, the Ditau Camp Project and the Kalahari Copper Belt, offer an excellent diverse potential for the discovery of nickel-copper-PGE, copper-silver and rare earth deposits.

Botswana is recognised as the best jurisdiction in Africa for business and with the Company’s very experienced management team the chances of success are high.

Nobbygnome: "So no funding required in the immediate future. As usual Shareprophets are wrong......"

Really, how do you reach that conclusion ?

I suspect you are interpreting this statement of the RNS:

"The Company has no material debt and a secure working capital position."

What does that actually mean? A "secure WC position" could simply mean that they are comfortable in their ability to raise cash from equity issues.

What did the company reports tell us about cash?

The recent Half Year Report (to 31 Mar) stated Cash and Cash Equivalents as just £689k

If there was £689k cash in the bank on 31st March, why did they just (9th Aug) have to issue 9.8m shares to pay down fees of just £58.9k ?

Seems a bit squiffy don't you think?

Surely the rational answer is that the cash has been used up in which case they will be coming cap in hand with the next load of confetti soon enough or do you have some other explanation?

I'll say this much about Johnson, he's one hell of a marketeer. Vish, look at THR this 9 bagged from its Dec-16 low. OK, its down again now but at the end of the day it doesn't make sense holding on to any mining share for to long - if it make a good profit sell it.

He also banged on about GGP which is doing well. Puff or no puff if he gets the share price to rise and we can all make a few bob then I'm game....
