sb, with these markets and the shareprice where it is now, I`m not now expecting the first offer to be much above 215p with another 10p to clinch it.

We`ll have to see.

205p the highest price paid. 10% premium to that gets us to the 230-235p which I think could be put forward by the BoD. 250p secures it imo.

negotiating on the extra 15p :)

That Liberum note.....

Liberum downgraded its stance on discount retailer Poundland to 'sell' from 'hold'. It said the shares were underpinned by a potential bid but in the event this does not happen there is 40% downside risk

fear and greed - share price moving and being moved based upon emotions.

Steinhoff have spent over £130mln so far buying PLND shares...they will not want to walk away from this one

Morning guys .

Drop caused by analysts at Liberum coming out this morning with a 'sell' rating and 125p target.

Obviously they reckon a bid is not going to happen . Six days left to see if they`re right.

Jefferies on the other hand reiterate their 'hold' nd 195p target

There is a UT trade listed after close, for 163398 shares at 203. I am not sure what UT stands for, could that be to do with Stainhoff.

Couldn`t spot any NT trades today. Doesn`t look as though Steinhoff were in the market , just a few jumping ship in case a bid doesn`t materialise.

It makes more sense than buying in the open market which even small volume will drive the share price up. They are better buying one or two of the big holders ... Some paid £3 at IPO. So don't rule it out
