12at; the shares have doubled over the past 9 months and are now on a pretty high rating. I would be very surprised if it wasn't profit taking.

does anyone know the cause of this fall? nothing's been announced and its too much of a pull back to be simply profit taking, surely? tree shake?

Alcoa have beaten earnings estimates, largely thanks to increased demand from US auto manufacturers. Hopefully indicative of the health of the markets that we service. Reassuring to see the trend re-establish itself ahead of the company going XD.

I think they will slowly continue to creep up - there are fewer sellers than there are buyers.

Didn't even get below the 50ema, W. Still, PRV has grown to 4.3% of portfolio, so I shouldn't complain. DIA approaching a forward PER of 20, I think I'll have to look elsewhere. What a flibbertigibbet I am! apad

Well - 10% drop from pre-figures in the share price was significant. Looks like it's over now though.

That took me quite a while to learn that one, especially coming from a racing background as I kept thinking Starting Price? But it's actually SHARE PRICE.

There was also strong buying ahead of their entry into the small cap index with a bit of profit taking afterwards.

It's as predictable as a crooked MP Jamie. share price is always speculated up before results and then sold off. They were excellent results, and most importantly indicated that the forward momentum we've seen looks to be maintained. I am sure the temporary overhang is now cleared out and I suspect that they will rise over forthcoming weeks.

Terry - welcome to the thread, which is mercifully free of rude aggressive idiots and endless inane repetitive posts like "unleash the beast". What a nice contrast to so many BBs!! I feel that today's share price answers your question. Marked down by MMs first thing this morning - and now back up again. I doubt we will see any further significant falls, unless the planned new acquisition increases debt or equity substantially. I think the management is too canny to overstretch themselves. Previous acquisitions have been earnings enhancing. Also they have a habit of announcing new contract wins on a fairly regular basis. This is not a trading stock - so don't buy them on a T20 - but if you are looking for a solid performer which will do you well over a few years - this will take some beating! Best wishes, WD
