14/7/2020 10:48 | Hate to see the price if gold has a major sell off ? | prettygreen
14/7/2020 09:23 | I know - not complaining... Remember the comparison chart a few posts ago (edit - post 386) - which had POLY at the FRES equivalent of £20? As FRES gets its act together, you have to expect a bit of relative movement the other way? | imastu pidgitaswell
14/7/2020 09:19 | FRES 1006p , POLY 1569P | action
13/7/2020 13:31 | Fres 997p .C'mon POLY. | action
13/7/2020 09:56 | Gold and Silver riding high today. FRES is also doing better. THIS sold be near 1700p. DYOR as always. | action
13/7/2020 09:37 | Agree Imastu. Your highlighted concern, "appropriation by the state or bent politicians" is my main worry as well. Am in HGM as well...So plenty of Russian risk. | geckotheglorious
13/7/2020 09:23 | Yeah, I get that - it's not exactly a shining example of corporate governance. But it is what it is, we all know the risks, it goes with the territory (literally) and it makes sense to manage exposure. For me there is always the risk of appropriation of assets by the state or just bent politicians. As I say, I'm personally happy to mess about with it in relatively small stakes for trading (no stamp duty); FRES has been the big stake medium term PM play for me. | imastu pidgitaswell
13/7/2020 08:45 | Don't dispute that one "just doesn't know" but it gives me itchy feet. Often large insider sales precede bad news of some sort. | geckotheglorious
13/7/2020 08:36 | Yes - if I had shares that have almost trebled (and I have had, notably DLAR recently and FRES (same sector) to a lesser extent) there is no way I would sit on them and not take some off the table, and close to 50% if you are sitting on a 3 fold gain, especially in the current climate, and especially if they had pretty much stalled, is a logical response, imho. You just don't know, and it's simple risk management - large fund or private investor. | imastu pidgitaswell
13/7/2020 08:25 | Imastu Normal? To reduce ones stakes so significantly? I'd understand disposals but they're mostly chunky ones. 6.93% --------------> 3.89% 6.5% --------------> 3.82% Gives me itchy feet frankly. 2 other stake holders below 3% so little idea how much they have trimmed. | geckotheglorious
13/7/2020 08:22 | Is it? Why? Seems pretty normal to me - after a significant rise since 2018, to reduce your exposure (not eliminate it), and (I haven't done the maths) looks like keeping a similar value in the company (reducing the percentage holding) as the price rises. Certainly explains the relative price weakness compared with gold and silver, but suits me trading it to see it effectively going nowhere, but with volatility. | imastu pidgitaswell
13/7/2020 08:13 | Some chunky disposals in the last week or so.. Notified this morning: ”Bank Otkritie Financial Corp trims stake to 3.89%(6.93%)” Notified 6th July: ”Mr Petr Kellner” reduces stake to 3.82%(6.5%)” And recall 2nd Jun'20 ”Alexander Mosionzhik reduces below notifiable threshold(3.31%)&rdq End of May ”Sova Capital reduces stake “Below notifiable threshold(3.05%)&rdq A concerning "trend" | geckotheglorious
11/7/2020 12:26 | Conference call on production 23.07.2020. 12 O'clock UK time 2.30pm Russian time. | action
10/7/2020 16:16 | This is really lagging the POG. Should be several pounds higher imho | prettygreen
10/7/2020 10:00 | POLY has seen lot of deals gone through today on CNBC at 1595p. It ha touched low of 1576 recently 3 times. Now it is going towards year high. DYOR. | action
08/7/2020 14:35 | Anyway, had enough of the arbitrage now - just move up, eh? Liking those daily Au and Ag charts... | imastu pidgitaswell
08/7/2020 11:24 | Also with gold etf you have to be careful with stg and usd exchange rate as well. With POLY not the issue with exchange rate apart from MM . LOL. | action
08/7/2020 10:58 | Only thing I can choose is gold etc and poly as both are stamp duty free . | action
08/7/2020 08:30 | Have to say I'm finding the 'arbitrage' between them working very well. When one goes up and the other doesn't, buy (some more of) the one that doesn't, and sell for whatever profit you choose. Won't last, but good for now. | imastu pidgitaswell
08/7/2020 08:24 | FRES near 900p POLY still below 1600p. | action
07/7/2020 11:25 | Market down gold down . No place to hide | action
06/7/2020 16:27 | Any ideas as to why this is lagging the advancing price of gold ? | prettygreen |
