06/5/2021 20:32 | so circa 6% up today if we include divi.one of the reasons why it almost never pays to second guess the mkt.those who sold out yesterday hoping to buy back cheaply would have been worse off | scepticalinvestor
06/5/2021 19:09 | Falling treasury yield 10 year 1.60%, help push gold through psychological $1800 barrier first time since February.Looks like we heading towards $2000. | montyhedge
06/5/2021 19:09 | Agreed Monty. As I've said here before everyone to their own techniques, interpretation and risk criteria. No one gets it right all the time. Anyone who hasn't gained here in the last few days is trying too hard or just very unlucky. Well done to everyone who has and fair play to those brave enough to jump in last minute for divi day. You may have got away with one, you just be good. Either way it doesn't matter. One things for sure this should be one cheery board! | finctastic
06/5/2021 18:47 | If charting actually made you wealthy, chartists would be selling you their charts - not flogging them to death on here! Trader536 - I'm already retired thanks. I've spent some time in Thailand and a lot of south-east Asia, but I wouldn't want to live there permanently. What a strange suggestion!?! | woodhawk
06/5/2021 18:46 | Woodhawk - good man, you'll soon be able to retire to Thailand and take six figs a year out of the market, give me a call when you get here. | trader536
06/5/2021 18:44 | We are all here to make money what ever strategy you use, you know I don't believe in charts, but I do look.No harm in admitting you completely call this wrong today, we all make mistakes. | montyhedge
06/5/2021 18:37 | LOL, trader536! I'm doing a lot better than 1.17 to 1.0 winners to losers, stop losses notwithstanding. So, I'm happy and vastly more profitable than you in my blissful ignorance. | woodhawk
06/5/2021 18:32 | No, but I think you must be, you obviously don't understand how this business works. | trader536
06/5/2021 18:28 | Are you a complete idiot, trader536? | woodhawk
06/5/2021 18:26 | What a good day . trader, I hold just one of those in my thirty share portfolio, on that list , Nichols NICL, and it's still doing very well :-) | philanderer
06/5/2021 18:23 | Perhaps try reading it again? Its an example using a list from my scanner, I record them in a google sheet, so no stops have been executed, they are not actual trades, its simply data for the purpose of demonstration, duhh! "We'll assume a £5k position is taken in each trade and a 10% (£500) stop loss is used. We'll further assume all 66 losing trades have triggered their £500 stop for total losses of £33k" | trader536
06/5/2021 17:52 | "Below we have 141 trades generated: 66 losers and 71 winners which gives us a win loss ratio of 1.17:1" Seems like an almighty lot of effort that totally fails to get anywhere near my own 'gut instinct' + one easily assimilated indicator method. I know what I prefer, my 'method' is infinitely more profitable.. and far less work. "We've let the winning trades run, we've therefore limited the downside" Yes, of *course* you do. Do they run forever, your winners? How then do you end up with a 38% loss, if the downside is "limited"? Perhaps it is limited to 39%? | woodhawk
06/5/2021 17:01 | More drivel from Numpty Trader536 today I see- touting 1400 only recently, not a clue. All he does is look at his historical charts, he really is the tool with a tool- a multitude of factors are at play, we know that, but for some reasons he constantly ignores them- although I do now see him post the odd thing that can impact which shows despite all his vitriol he is listening and learning from these boards- shame he lacks the basic comprehension to apply them. | stevedaytrader
06/5/2021 16:54 | Cryptos still up- incredible recent times. | stevedaytrader
06/5/2021 16:51 | PM and currency traders that had jumped ship to crypto for the last wee while starting to take note and come back in? | finctastic
06/5/2021 16:49 | Well that's a pleasant surprise - was wondering how much the share price would lose on XD day last night - didn't foresee a positive finish. | podgyted
06/5/2021 16:47 | It's not all that surprising. At today's prices being used for the average for the year, EPS for 2021 would be £1.70 or thereabouts. Which means an earnings multiple of 9.5 - after today's rise. And a dividend yield (based on last year so 2021 actual will be higher as EPS will be higher) of 5.93%. This is fatuously, stupidly, farcically undervalued. | imastu pidgitaswell
06/5/2021 16:36 | I wonder if Wallstreetbetters coming back into buy Silver, making shorts cover, remember a few months ago.https://forums.c | montyhedge
06/5/2021 16:29 | Don't think so. Look at your forecast for today, you could not be more wrong. Throw those charts away make some money. | montyhedge |
