28/5/2020 08:57 | funnily enough the only other sport id bet on was cricket. basically sports with high volume scores have less outliers.. ie cricket where a 50 overs averages >300.. as opposed to a football game where one goal makes all the difference. however with the relaxed fielding rules and super bats.. the scores are nuts now in cricket... and can change with 6 overs to go.. so ive stayed away. US open is always the most open grandslam.. but Ive got djoko, thiem, as favs. Nadal will be tuning up for the french and he needs to play in more than djoko. thiem has had long engough to recover from the painful Aus open defeat. djoko, as long as hes there mentally, he should make finals at least- unless he meets Stan... Sorry for off topic all! | sif12
28/5/2020 00:02 | Yeah SIF, I sports bet a bit for fun too. Mainly tennis (and with less success cricket) as a one on one sport has less randomness built into it. I think US open and French open will go ahead sometime ~September unless a second wave comes through which doesnt seem to be the case yet. Yes I agree with others that, WFH abating and sports betting restarting will not materially impact long term Plus numbers as the high value clients will use the platform regardless. Also it seems to be the case there will only be a very gradual move away from WFH and a lot of companies seem to find that you don't lose much efficiency (maybe even gain efficiency) with a WFH model. | djokovic1
27/5/2020 17:38 | I agree that the lessening of WFH will have an impact, but in my view the outsize Q1 2020 and Q2 2020 cohorts, each the result of > $30m extra marketing spend; they are enough to mean 2021 estimates are very likely to rise. This matters more to me than 2020 estimates rising, as they have to do. | simplethesis
27/5/2020 17:03 | chucko Im suprised WMH has had such a run. unless theyve drastically improved their online app, it never seemed that impressive. unlike shares/ CFDs, the vast majority of sports bets are small retail, who like punts... and quirky bets, which Bet 365, betfair skybet offer. More importantly as you say I dont think sports coming back will have an impact on PLUS. I think work from home ending will.. but most companies where you have been working from home.. will continue to allow you to do so. Public sector workers can, financial services, tech obviously. | sif12
27/5/2020 16:44 | I suspect the reopening of sports betting will be a minor issue, not a major one for PLUS. The 10% of the customers (the high-value ones) who make up about 90% of the P&L are unlikely to change their habits, even those newly acquired. That said, a WMH side-bet has proven a smart trade so far, and I expect this will continue, notwithstanding the large recent rise in the latter. It's about portfolios and risk, innit? | chucko1
27/5/2020 15:33 | yep i watch tennis more than any other sport- i sports bet. Tennis is not a bad sport to place on. Djoko definitely best player of last 10 years, bar maybe 13, 17 which probably Nadal. Nadal is my favourite since 2006/7 but hes lost mental edge against djoko and Fed now... Looks like US swing will continue... US open and French at same time? | sif12
27/5/2020 14:48 | Yes yes, its my favorite sport and no prizes for guessing my favorite player! Can't wait for competitive sport to restart again, although that may be detrimental to Plus! | djokovic1
27/5/2020 13:19 | djoko- given the name do you follow tennis? | sif12
27/5/2020 13:19 | yes but Fx pro if theyre bent like you say, theyll just pay off one of the big 4- those guys always like a bit of a bung | sif12
27/5/2020 13:09 | There is no way they would be quired, they would have to go through due dilli | fxprotrader
27/5/2020 12:45 | No views on them getting acquired SIF. It's not part of my rationale for holding Plus | djokovic1
27/5/2020 10:53 | Yeah. Your sheets are dire filthAs usual | elcapifool
27/5/2020 10:27 | Not looking good is it | fxprotrader
27/5/2020 09:29 | djoko, simplethesis others, whats your views on Plus being bought? Playtech made an offer before, would they or Ig or similar be interested? | sif12
27/5/2020 08:51 | looks set fair for a run up to 1500p over next couple of weeks in anticipation of stellar trading update which can come at any time. | rachael777
27/5/2020 08:39 | I have no ide who blackfinance is for the record. But these losers are playing the man and not the ball. Yet its me who is the troll lol Blackfinance26 May '20 - 15:26 - 22936 of 22950 0 1 0 My apologies to the last three posters! Fx/Elcap and I go back a long way on the PLUS board. I see his vitriol and invective have not diminished over time. I have done very well from PLUS over the years both share price rises and divs. I shall content myself with commenting on the company going forward. Apologies again. GLA. | fxprotrader
27/5/2020 08:25 | looks like a nice re entry point to me | rachael777
27/5/2020 08:13 | Sellers going at it from the off today. | eeza
27/5/2020 07:50 | Statements due next week from CMCX & IGG are likely to be a catalyst for the assumption of continued outperformance, even if a further trading update is not released | base7
27/5/2020 03:01 | Indeed, I chose my words carefully. There is no guarantee of an update but I fully expect May to have been one of, if not the biggest month in company's history so there must be a decent chance they will want to sing from the rooftops about it. | 1smallcap
26/5/2020 16:49 | Should certainly be a pre close update in July. I only anticipate an update before then if they will beat expectations for the year | rhatton
26/5/2020 16:41 | Clue is in the word 'potential' I think. | eeza
26/5/2020 16:30 | 1smallcap - where do you get next week from? | simplethesis
26/5/2020 16:29 | I've got them all on filter but at the moment that basically means 9/10 posts are filtered. Anyway looking forward to a potential trading update next week to confirm that May has been another knockout month. | 1smallcap |
