16/3/2020 18:05 | In any event, not all markets would close. Listed products such as stocks and futures, but currencies need to stay open in any circumstance. Probably other commodities as well, as these do not affect the perception of strength or weakness in businesses. | chucko1
16/3/2020 16:47 | It's an interesting discussion but it would be significant move to suspend markets. I don't believe it would go that way (too much co-ordination needed). The market will always present opportunities and Buffett has already started buying Airlines ..... | hatfullofsky

16/3/2020 14:55 | t took the stock market sixteen trading days to drop by 27% from the all-time highs to Thursday's lows. We have never seen anything close to that in history. The closest we’ve ever been in history was 1929, when it took 42 days to get from the all-time highs to a 20% correction. The speed in this decline is unprecedented. In the history of the United States, regulators closed the stock market only four times: 1914 when World War I started, during the bank holiday of 1933, after the Kennedy assassination in 1963 and after 9/11 in 2001. There is still a possibility that what is happening now might work and we can hold the lows from last week. Then closing markets won’t be necessary. But I think Central Banks are thinking exactly the way I am. Their actions are saying: «We have to stop this now. There is no more time to debate, we are all in with everything now. If it doesn’t work now, we don’t care that we’re out of interest rates cuts, and we don’t care that we’ve already blown up the balance sheet.» | hatfullofsky
16/3/2020 14:43 | it wont be stopped and shouldnt be stopped | fxprotrader

16/3/2020 14:02 | Flutter warns, Plus significantly ahead. PLUS is down more than FLTR - crazy times | hatfullofsky

16/3/2020 11:31 | Me too DJ..it would mean selling at a heavy loss on other stock to raise the cash and its pointless Might get together what I can (or even borrow) to open another position in a SIPP with just PLUS | markbelluk
16/3/2020 11:04 | house broker....not worth the paper it is written on.....unless its toilet paper lol | fxprotrader
16/3/2020 10:34 | I just wish I had more cash to deploy into Plus! | djokovic1

16/3/2020 08:55 | I know what is said about PLUS It will be a zero | fxprotrader
16/3/2020 08:46 | No I like PLUS, but we all know what was said the last time with PLUS don't we? | bulltradept
16/3/2020 08:24 | Plus is barely higher today. Lovely!! Doubled my position! Clearly no one in the mood to buy anything. | chucko1
16/3/2020 07:42 | @Bull: Sounds like someone is short and scared of the market reaction today? This could and should double from here based on their commentary and my expectation that Q1 should be atleast 2x consensus expectation and the volatility to continue past Q1. It is a stock that will do really well in these conditions and once the market realizes that, Plus should begin to perform really well in line with business fundamentals. | djokovic1
16/3/2020 07:37 | Some of those bets are, in all probability, still running... so we remember what was revealed before from PLUS don't we.. | bulltradept
16/3/2020 07:28 | "Revenue from Customer Income (1) has been very strong due to the heightened levels of market volatility. The Company has also experienced gains from Customer Trading Performance (2) which is expected to be neutral over time." (1) Customer Income - Revenue from customer spreads and overnight charges (2) Customer Trading Performance - Gains/losses on customers' trading positions | metis20
16/3/2020 07:25 | Oh dear, looks like some of PLUS's punters are doing too well, I wonder if PLUS are now on the wrong side of those trades.... | bulltradept
16/3/2020 07:25 | chucko1 is right, PLUS are going to knock it out the part this Q and possibly this year. Share price far too low. No reason at all for the sell off last week other than being dragged down by the market. If we had a crystal ball I wonder what the forward dividend yield is right now. 15-20% most likely. | 1smallcap
16/3/2020 07:25 | Today's trading update - "... we expect revenue and profitability for the full year to be substantially ahead of current consensus expectations." whereas from the trading update on 28 Feb - "It is too early to say what impact this outperformance in the current quarter will have on the outcome for 2020" | metis20
16/3/2020 07:14 | Amazing trading update: confirms significantly good performance in Q1 as I expected (also with positive market PNL) | djokovic1 |
