03/7/2019 21:04 | RandDokic2 Jul '19 - 07:22 - 20816 of 20864 I agree that the in-line is reassuring. However we can not ignore the moves in equity and crypto. in FY18 there were P&L gains of $172M "after an exceptional Q118. I did a comparison HY-18 FTSE 7658 to 7610 an increase of 48 pts over the 6 months HY-19 FTSE 6711 to 7403 an increase of 687 pts HY-18 BITCOIN 14123 to 6317 a decrease of 7806 pts HY-19 BITCOIN 3871 to 10913 an increase of 7042 pts PLUS made exceptional gains in Q1-18 / HY-18 due to the fall of CRYPTO, if we draw a lineal conclusion they should have made an exceptional loss in H1-19. That is all based on the fact that they remain unhedged of course. | hatfullofsky
03/7/2019 16:29 | Fantastic finish. Go on PLUS! | asusasus
03/7/2019 12:10 | PLUS discussed in this article: "As someone who takes an interest in this sector, would I be interested to take a punt on Plus500 at current levels? Actually, I would be more interested today than I would have been at any previous time." | rndm355
03/7/2019 11:26 | Nice gap fill earlier | sbb1x
03/7/2019 10:41 | EEA retail is now only c. 25% of revenues. UK retail will be less than 20% of that (5% of total). Crypto can’t be more than let’s say 20% of that. So you are looking at less than 1% of global revenues - immaterial. It’s the marketing angle that it will impact not revenues directly. It’s the smaller, independent CFD firms, that have morphed into proxy crypto exchanges and the likes of e-toro with tiny but numerous social trading accounts who will be most effected by any ban. If UK retail customers are determined to trade crypto they will switch to other EU providers (CySec). In practice, a UK retail CFD crypto ban will be ineffective unless it’s followed up and implemented across all EU jurisdictions. Not likely without ESMAs support. And that’s not likely as the new rules, including 2:1 retail crypto, are already locked in and coming into force at national level on 1st August. | dumbbunny
03/7/2019 10:26 | FCA planning on banning all crypto derivatives to retail customers. That's why the drop. What would that mean for PLUS? That's why IGG and CMCX were affected too. | asusasus
03/7/2019 10:26 | Why do you think its corruption? You dont think there might have been an industry wide news report considering it happened to them all at the same time? | liam1om
03/7/2019 10:21 | Surely something like this has to be reported to the FCA? It's corruption at its finest! | asusasus
03/7/2019 10:17 | Yes, one of the biggest tree shakes ever. This was sitting around 589p and dropped down to 542p in 4 minutes. Thats +3% to -5.3% from 10.04am to 10.07am. An 8.3% drop in 4 mins.Maybe it was a mate's rates to let some shorters buy back slightly cheaper.Thoughts???? | geordieshores
03/7/2019 10:13 | I have no idea. Same happened over at IGG and CMCX? | asusasus

02/7/2019 19:37 | And seen in the context of its asymmetric exposure to Bitcoin via the trading book, possibly irrelevant. Here's Peel Hunt. Whilst shares trade on a low valuation of c6x, there remains a high level of earnings uncertainty. If for example, core trading continued in a similar vein as Q1, we estimate that earnings could be 31% lower and this would mean the multiple would be closer to 10x. We would not dispute that if certain things go in Plus500’s favour the business model can deliver high operating margins and significant amounts of cash. Against that, we currently do not have much confidence in our forecasts, whether a function of falling client numbers or the continuing impact of regulation. At this stage, we expect Plus500 to remain an investment solely for those with a high risk appetite. | tradejunkie2
02/7/2019 15:42 | wonder where ELC is... I am back after a stroke in April last year 6 months in neuro hospital incl neurosurgery I am OK..... and still in Plus, still keen... good luck all Philip | pbutterworth1
02/7/2019 15:35 | Are the results believable ? Didn't they report a mistake? A City bookmaker has been forced to correct its annual report after telling shareholders that it had not suffered losses from punters’ trading positions, despite taking hits in 2016 and 2017. hxxps://www.thetimes | tradejunkie2
