18/2/2018 16:42 | That is a fair write up.Either get going with corporate action or return funds to shareholders by way of special divi.Game is changing a little. They need to push financial again imoLADs going will be a loss of business but they will pick up a share in GVCI am buying simply due to the low PE as above | trentendboy
17/2/2018 09:20 | Playtech ‘never cheaper’, says Shore Capital Gaming software developer Playtech (PTEC) has never been cheaper and should become more ambitious in its capital returns to shareholders, says Shore Capital. Analyst Greg Johnson retained his ‘buy’ recommendation on the stock, which dipped 5p to 756p yesterday. ‘Following recent price moves, Playtech’s combined stakes in Ladbrokes Coral and Plus500 is worth 112p per share - or 15% of the current market capitalisation,̵ However, with the Playtech shares trading on ‘just’ seven times 2018 enterprise value/earnings, Johnson said ‘the market appears to be giving little credit to its balance sheet and cash generative capabilities, with the group maintaining a broadly debt neutral position including some €500 million (£444 million) of available cash resources’. ‘With the shares arguably never cheaper, we believe management… should be more ambitious in returning capital to shareholders.’ | mozy123
16/2/2018 16:50 | Plus500 also flying - the 10% stake looking like a nice investment - pity they did not manage to buy the whole lot. | trentendboy
16/2/2018 13:35 | Could not resist any longer - due a bounce back to 9. Fundamentals are very strong and supported by an excellent dividend policy | trentendboy
09/2/2018 22:42 | The regulatory issue is being over-baked imo. PTEC has benefited from regulation when it occurs because of its leading technology and services plus its established reputation in highly regulated countries such as the U.K.The Portugal agreement this week is an example of how regulation helps PTEC take a larger slice of a market. PTEC is not operating directly in each country. It licenses its products and services to many operators. In a newly regulated environment some of those operators will become regulated and take a larger slice of the pie. PTEC explains its operations in its Annual Reports as follows: "Historically we have presented our largest licensee as a single customer. However, this licensee is a licensed distributor for many smaller licensees who sit beneath the distributor. The aggregator model is common in Asia and used by different B2B and services providers. Playtech has always used licensed distributors and local companies to establish itself across the region given the importance of understanding the culture and the importance of having the right partner not just any partner. 09/2/2018 03:02 | Playtech has agreed a ground-breaking deal to supply Sociedade de Apostas Sociais (SAS), Portugal's largest online gaming and betting operator, with its cutting-edge IMS player management platform and new sportsbook offering. SAS is one of the first operators to launch such a wide range of online products following the country regulating gaming and betting 18 months ago. Gambling Insider | nod
08/2/2018 09:08 | Playtech is controversial but cheap, says Barclays Gaming software developer Playtech (PTEC) is facing regulatory uncertainty but Barclays believes it is a company of ‘strategic importance’ to its industry. Analyst James Goodman initiated coverage of the stock with an ‘equal weight’ recommendation and a target price of 806p on the shares, which edged 6p higher to 769.6p yesterday. ‘Playtech is a controversial stock with significant regulatory uncertainty in its China exposure and negative estimate momentum following its November profit warning,’ he said. ‘However, it also holds a position of strategic importance in the industry, has control over leading game content, is growing a very credible live casino offering, and generates significant value through mergers and acquisitions.’ Goodman added that at 11x 2018 earnings per share it is ‘one of the cheapest stocks in the industry’ although he expects the regulatory uncertainty to remain a cap on valuation. | mozy123
21/1/2018 11:19 | Story breaking this morning (Sun) that FOBT limit will be £2 maximum per spin. Might be lacking in detail, for example could be £2 for Slots but higher for say Roulette? Not sure what the exact impact on PTEC is but unlikely to help share price if true I guess. | john2345
17/1/2018 17:14 | I see that there's been an RNS each day for the past three days, each relating to minor modifications to the Morgan Stanley Holding. From what I can see and understand the Equity Holding has been decreased slightly while the 'other financial instruments' - Equity Swap Options I think - voting rights have been decreased also. I have to confess I can't make head nor tail of the latter and what it might mean in practice. If any posters who are wiser than me take a look I'd be grateful for clarification as to what influence these RNS's may bed having, if any. | john2345
17/1/2018 15:43 | I'd think most of the complaints here are more likely to relate to the current share price! | noujay
17/1/2018 15:42 | For those holding these in Barclays i have so far had £200 from them relating to my complaints. Not all for the Playtech divi fiasco but also for the dire service in general. Worth complaining If you are a "smart investor" | oohrogerpalmer
16/1/2018 20:28 | Following publication of a recent study, there have been headlines around the globe about the growth in problem gambling and addiction. It's largely put down to online gambling and betting terminals - known as pokies down under. Australia leads the world with pokies.Demands for reduced numbers and tighter regulations. | nod
16/1/2018 15:19 | why is this continuing to fall, I don't get it | jamieb73
15/1/2018 23:25 | Looks to have held 805p support level - graph last few months does not look too dissimilar to Dec 2016- Jan 2017....if so roll on the next two quarters !!! | wolfhound1
12/1/2018 11:10 | Well pretty disappointing here, shorters got hold of this just under £9... | ddubzy
11/1/2018 13:05 | Review of financial trading companies is now in - reason for the pull back IMO | trentendboy
11/1/2018 09:56 | Yes, very quiet for a long time now. We made only two small acquisitions in 2017. Eyecon in gaming and Alpha in trading.Sagi could sell Safecharge to PTEC. | nod
11/1/2018 09:26 | IMHO - Quiet often means management are busy persuing a big/strategic deal and therefore ignore the usual "press" briefings that occur when it is BAU. Watch this space :) | wolfhound1
11/1/2018 09:04 | PTEC have been quiet for a while now and really need to step up and do something. They are losing momentum in a sector that moves quick | trentendboy
10/1/2018 15:08 | Has something happened today or is this just coming off a bit after a run? | noujay
08/1/2018 20:35 | I suspect more with regulate but it is always a slow process. The big one is if "sports" goes - then the rest will follow. The sector is still hot for that reason (and consolidation) and the fact that gaming stocks are defensive in a way - people still gamble in recessions. | trentendboy
08/1/2018 20:23 | Thanks TEB, Indeed, what is your predictions re US regs - could 2018 be the year more states follow PENN's example and approve OLG ? I see MS has increased its holding to over 7% -stakebuilding for someone ? | wolfhound1
05/1/2018 11:49 | I think so yes, US regulation is the key now | trentendboy
04/1/2018 12:09 | 900p looming and then vertical to 1000p+ IMHO Do PTEC still own 9.9% of Plus500 ? | wolfhound1 |
