08/12/2017 02:33 | You make some good points but if you are talking about Offord,I think you are being rather harsh. He is qualified, has worked in this sector for 17 years and knows the industry intimately. Ptec have known him for many years, and they still have Hoffman around if they ever feel the need to second guess him.feels ok to me. | shaker44
07/12/2017 19:41 | wolfhound1, the only way this massive takeover by GVC makes sense is by replacing the PTEC software at Ladbrokes Coral asap. The merged group makes savings by using in-house IT. GVC also puts a dent in a major competitor - PTEC. IF LCL own more than half of the combined group (as proposed) then is it a takeover by GVC or a takeover by LCL? GVC is keen to get hold of two 100-year old brands to expand in the UK and Australia and use around the globe. The deal is huge given GVC's net income and very high risk at this stage of the stock market cycle i.e. at or near the top. If markets crash next year, interest rates go up and not all mega mergers can finance their debt. In step PE and buy assets on the cheap. | nod
07/12/2017 15:44 | HL are very good, apparently they have had quite an influx from disgruntled Barclays customers! | lomax99
07/12/2017 15:38 | Never had a problem with HL. | high park
07/12/2017 14:29 | Toggle, I know thanks, don't know if it was you that posted it but it was mentioned on here a few weeks earlier. I just wanted to get it sorted as I'm in process of transferring isa to HL. | oohrogerpalmer
07/12/2017 14:17 | Re oohrogerpalmer ' Re:- Barclays Stockbrokers you, having asked them several times to pay you the dividend for PTEC, can after 8 weeks refer them to Financial Services Ombudsman with evidence of your complaints It will be 6 weeks down on Tuesday ... reference date on or after 19 December 2017 for the Ombudsman. ' Foreign Exchange rate has moved from, € to £ at 0.8931 to 0.8822 will be interesting which exchange rate they choose when they do pay. | togglebrush
07/12/2017 13:53 | Good luck Roger. Back on topic, PTEC discussed along with LAD on FT Alphaville | argylerich
07/12/2017 13:49 | AR - I have made official complaint and had a letter telling me it is being investigated. Won't hold my breathe. | oohrogerpalmer
07/12/2017 13:13 | I think the market have gotten the wrong end of this - it is more likely to present opportunity for PTEC. I doubt GVC would have the capacity or take the risk of trying to migrate to their IT platform - makes more sense to leave legacy alone but focus on new product build out on GVC platform. So little or no impact in short to medium term. Does however place PTEC as a takeover target - I could see a PE firm come sniffing in 2018. Loaded up large !! | wolfhound1
07/12/2017 13:13 | Roger, I had an issue with a Barclays current account very recently, including important letters being sent to an incorrect address and them closing a complaint when it wasn't resolved. It cost me time but it cost them £100. Follow the complaints process ;-) | argylerich
07/12/2017 12:53 | Topped up myself , Still no divi from Barclays thou, spent another 20min on phone only to be told "sorry but can't give you a definite date yet" How more pathetic can a bank get !!!!! Answers on a postcard and they will be sent to Barclays where they will be dealt with asap. | oohrogerpalmer
07/12/2017 12:12 | great top up opp this morning | phillis
07/12/2017 11:47 | Of course LADS will not kill buyout the PTEC deal and use GVC software instead of the PTEC bought in tech. This is where PTEC are being killed by having no front end. As the sector continues to consolidate there will not be enough players left that want to use the what PTEC offers. PTEC need to get more involved in the consolidation and get bigger quicker | trentendboy
07/12/2017 11:30 | Ptec currently has about £200 million in shares in Ladbrokes. Could be a return of cash. And perhaps merge software offerings. Who knows. Fall is overdone in my view. | brexitplus
07/12/2017 10:03 | Too much uncertainty here at the moment on the back of the poor recent news release. No guarantee that gvc buys lads of course but it seems highly likely they will get it through | noujay
07/12/2017 09:47 | GVC reference to "potential for material synergies including the use of leading proprietary technology.. ". Given how important Ladbrokes is for Playtech if GVC really are going to deliver material synergies then some of those Playtech revenues & services must be on the list for detailed review / possible move in-house by GVC. | dennislevine
07/12/2017 09:36 | Whilst the value of PTECs shares in Lads goes up, it is likely they will lose ongoing services to GVC. It's too complex for me to work out the value here. This merger was anticipated so some of it must already be in the PTEC price. | nod
07/12/2017 09:32 | In the blink of an eye, profit turns to loss...Bit of an over reaction isn't it?! | ddubzy
07/12/2017 09:29 | One or two stop losses triggered there! | argylerich
