Just got in for 15K at a super price of 16.15p; this is very close to, if not below the average share price at which shares have been snapped up by institutions in the past 6 months. With a very high (94%+) shares in institutions hands any further significant purchases will put the bite on the MM.

PWR, like a number of others looks good, although on a high just before the results.

One share I do like in this sort of area is Powerleague soccer centres (PWR). Well worth a punt in my view, esp with World Cup coming up!

There seems to be a fair bit of VCT/EIS investment in this share - Close Brothers have a lot, and Calculus EIS fund (who know their onions). However PLG have issued a minor profit warning for 2005 and made a slightly worrying comment about planning issues on Northwick with Brent Council. Potentially this is an exciting investment, but a bit early for me yet. I suspect a further price drop when the results come out. Has good asset backing, but what they really need is throughput of golfers into Northwick and then East Kilbride - early days on that score.

By eck they do seem to like shelling out more new shares - reflected in the low placing price and nodoubt to ensure no hitches. I would like some @ 15p.

You are probably right. I will just have to wait for an opportune dip? I have moved from the then rip off telephone orders to online trading with a cut of 60% in costs; interesting point though getting a better price.

azalea...

I am afraid I don't see the spread gettign much tighter than this.

Couple of things to note:

There are relatively few shares issued (compared with many other stocks) and as you would have noticed, combined with the thin market, the share price moves on relatively low volume.

Secondly, if you use a telephone broker, you can get a much better price then the indicated offer price.

When I bought mine, I specifically placed a 'fill or kill' order and the broker was able to negotiate an acceptable price for me.

Exactly my view....

Have tried complaining about such occurrances before but no one seems to care !

Good news regardless though.

However, I expected to hear about their new Golf Centre(s) by now.....

How come the shares closed higher when the announcement came out at 4.40? 10 minutes after the bell?

Looks wrong to me, the mms marked the share up on no volume at 16.22 unless a large rollover appears tomorrow, in which case it could look like insider dealing.

I don't have any shares in PLG and have decided not to invest. Going back over the thread, I see lots of positive comments from the house broker, but price has been pretty flat (the recent upward trend falling a fall pretty much since the day they were listed). Even recently, the share price has fallen slightly. I am an occasional golfer and am interested in the idea of 6 hole golf as I simply don't have the time for 18 holes very often, but I'm not convinced there are enough "proper" golfers to generate the income levels needed to warrant a meningful rise in the share price I'm going to put this in my "monitor" file for now and wait to see how well Harrow performs before reconsidering investment.
