04/11/2002 07:52 | What's that smile on your face bigboyo? | richard xi
02/11/2002 15:08 | I have the same feeling. Though it may just be the company brokers readying for a 10 % share buyback program. JT | jtcod
01/11/2002 21:13 | i get a funny feeling that the price rise today is related to maybe some sort of stakebuilding or a buyout why else would the price rise by 30 p await monday | bigboyo
01/11/2002 20:50 | Cheers Bdubs I have just asked the question there as well. JT | jtcod
01/11/2002 20:04 | up 10% today......cheapest i paid was 245 so 320 mid is nice... | ydderf
01/11/2002 18:20 | JTCod I was also unable to attend the AGM. Regarding 'share buyback'I don't think this was discussed. I understand a possible MBO was, but the chairman said this had "not been discussed at Board level". Evasive? Read into this what you like. However, you may wish to read the interesting report on The Motley Fool PIZ BB by AliceinWonder1. BW | bdubs
01/11/2002 15:31 | Not sure what's happening but somebody must be buying on a T trade. JT | jtcod
01/11/2002 13:56 | buffet is that the kind of buffet you eat or is it pronounced boofat ? LOL cheap tasty meals -- supermarket deals -- overseas units open -- lots uk towns still haven't got pizza express -- new pasta chain as co-driver of growth does that answer your question marty declaration -- i hold piz shares | bigboyo
01/11/2002 11:32 | I was unable to make the AGM and would be interested to hear if the question of a 'share buyback' was put to the management. Given the current price and the absence of debt, the company are in a perfect position to take advantage of the situation. It is the most obvious of management strategies. Should they be against the idea, I would like to know the managements reasons. (Especially so, should an MBO materialise). Let us hope it was the company buying yesterday. Time will tell. 27/10/2002 15:27 | So do any of you "experts" think these shares are worth buying? | martybuffet
23/10/2002 23:29 | well with interest rates so low the financing would be easy in terms of cashflow however the VULTURE ( not venture ) capitalists always need an exit route --- with PIZ once delisted how would the market react to a relisting ? surely it would be ex growth --- piz needs a big plc to buy it out like mcdonalds have pret a manger ( or as i call them PRATS Muncher there ) | bigboyo
22/10/2002 16:47 | Any ideas why they don't vary the menu a bit? | snagsby
22/10/2002 12:28 | Any takeover/bid will surely be way above this price at present. That's all that matters at present. | dondee
21/10/2002 23:52 | kasg suppose it could be my appetite that is getting bigger as my pot belly gets ever bigger ! | bigboyo
21/10/2002 21:17 | pizza express is a quality operation, cheapo-vomit operators are not serious competition - poor brummies! | ydderf
20/10/2002 08:04 | luck doesn't come into it - do your sums! | ydderf
19/10/2002 00:14 | I've recently spoken to someone who has eaten at PIZ several times over the last couple of years. Apparently pizza size hasn't changed. | keeps
18/10/2002 17:18 | I think it depends how far back you go. Official management line is that they haven't shrunk. I can't speak for 1986 but in the 3 years I've eaten there (not long I know) the size has not shrunk at any of the restaurants I've used. | kasg
18/10/2002 16:57 | i too eat at pizza express and have since 1986 ! sorry to contradict -- but the pizza size has definately shrunk | bigboyo
18/10/2002 11:39 | is this the first price hike before the much mooted pre MBO ? | bigboyo
15/10/2002 16:41 | I think that PE is a steal at this price on a long term buy. Bought in today. I hope 'emporio' gets his sub 200p because I would buy more. Won't be holding my breath though. Following the AGM from 1st Nov 2002 the company should start buying back 7.2m shares on the open market. Should be fun. Good luck with your investments guys. Regards JTCod | jtcod |
