23/5/2018 10:06 | My gut is beginning to feel uneasy... new lows coming! | targatarga
22/5/2018 20:43 | ...we may find out in a week or so with the trading update. | snadgey
22/5/2018 19:53 | In terms of UK passport ID, there may be a shift underway to get a friend to take a photo. This might be beginning to impact now, rather than ..economic conditions ..mentioned. Just my best guess. | essentialinvestor
21/5/2018 23:47 | @targatarga see post 7757, I agree. I would suggest you contact the company, specially if you are a shareholder. It is basic and easily fixed. I was a little irritated by the experience. | xxx
21/5/2018 11:23 | I went to a booth at Norwich. Apparently hardly anyone ever uses it because it's not easy to understand. The difference between visa/portrait and numbers of pics seemed unclear. Did they ever trial these booths. tia | targatarga
15/5/2018 15:37 | Re laundry services. Noted that HGT sold JLA to Cinven yesterday: | rambutan2

14/5/2018 11:49 | Any idea when trading update is...?? | chrisdgb
12/5/2018 21:41 | cyfran...that's old news the DM are rolling out, good luck with your blind short though, results out at the end of this month and the previous update was v strong with the share price raising to 190p level not too long ago. I'm confident once results are out this will be heading towards re-testing the 190p again. | valuehunter1
12/5/2018 21:38 | Its always been possible to take your own photo and print this for passport and other purposes. However, taking and uploading your own photo has been available for well over a year now. UK revenue from photobooths softened last year - the company blamed this on economic conditions, but may also be down to being able to take your own photo. Only time will tell. I suspect any reduction in revenue from this source will be easily replaced by that from laundry as it rolls out further. Take a look at UK operating profit for Interims which still increased excluding land sale. | snadgey

09/5/2018 13:58 | The interims were very good; they have since acknowledged a £3m gain on a 12% investment they hold. I'm expecting overall revenue of around the £240m and 10.2 eps, but the £3m could add another 1p eps. There will be exceptional costs of £1m for the switch to entirely digital photobooths, but I'm more focused on the French kiosks, and the laundry growth, which is increasing;y profitable. All being well, the results should lead to a high dividend, the first part of which. 3.71p, announced for H1 is paid on 11 May | silverfern
07/5/2018 04:47 | ygor705, I agree that the customer pathway is not friendly, with too many distracting signs and instructions. I went to the AGM 4 yrs ago + explained this to Johnathon Lewis, the Chairman, who politely said he would look into this, but I have noticed that nothing has changed since. I do think that the company is a little smug and set in its ways. A quick glance at employee comments on Glassdoor re-inforces the view that management do things 1 way and that is that. I would suggest that you and anyone else who has been irritated or just disappointed in using the company's machines, write to the chairman directly as I think they really need to be look at how to improve, rather than just expand the estate. | xxx
02/5/2018 17:57 | Slogsweep......exact mirror of my experience and the women seem to me incredibly sensitive about their passport pics. Mine also had to tie her hair back and was not at all happy with the final result. Will give Photo-me a a ring after the holidays. | ygor705
02/5/2018 10:46 | ditto my wife had to change her hair style to get photo accepted. She had to tie her hair back so that none was on her forehead ruining her hair style she was not pleased. previous passport photos did not have that requirement. agree cant understand why this is stuck at 160. Yield good enough to keep as a yield stock and all my shares are free as I have sold enough to recover purchase price years ago but it is dragging down my portfolio performance. If it doesnt buck up I may have to sell a few to fund better prospects. | slogsweep
02/5/2018 10:18 | Ditto. I was impressed with how they dealt with my complaint. The Passport Office or most probably their software is far to picky. | keyno
02/5/2018 09:50 | Ygor705. Can I suggest you feed back your poor experience to Photome? I've done this in the past and they have responded. | snadgey
02/5/2018 08:58 | My recent use worked a dream | rubberbullets
02/5/2018 08:57 | Had reason to renew my wife's passport recently and decided to use a Photo-me booth based in Boots, Hemel Hempstead. Used the direct link service into the Passport Office which is incredibly picky on passport photos these days. Got a picture set up but then the payment system failed. Wanted pound coins and would not accept a credit card........very poor indeed. Went to another booth in the Marlowes Centre where we had a problem in producing an acceptable picture. The problem turned out to be a glossy Photo-me advert stuck on the back of the Booth. Payment worked, just .... but I was not impressed with the experience. If this was typical of the whole estate we are in trouble. | ygor705
01/5/2018 22:08 | Hoping we have a breakout and this re-rates back to where it should be: c190p | valuehunter1
01/5/2018 14:40 | They just wanted to take out some competition and replace with their own kit. | snadgey
01/5/2018 12:09 | EI...from Serge at the time of the News release - "This is an interesting opportunity to significantly expand our UK business in a strong set of locations and increase our market share in the digital photo printing market, which we believe has growth potential in the digital age. Photo-Me is the leader in its field with a wide range of attractive and innovative products which we plan to introduce into the Asda stores as soon as possible, and we believe will improve the level of trading and overall performance over the next two years and beyond." | gleach23
01/5/2018 11:50 | ANd just after these posts - up 5p! | silverfern |
