steven: anyone can trade any of the listed shares.
If you buy the nil paid rights you will have to come up with 508p per nil paid on, or after, 8th November unless you then sell them again in the market prior that cut-off date.
Up until the call for cash the nil paid are effectively a geared trading opportunity.

With the Nil Rights at 247.58p and the ex-Rights settling at 755p the pre-rights price is approx 900p; so about 45p up on the uncrossing yesterday.

If like me you had problems finding the epic for the new shares , it is PHNN .they are currently around 250p nil paid of course

Had the order placed on the order book as I always do, and it went through during the auction at 4.35

Jonwig,I make it 287 Rights,on 500 shares,because when you divide by 12 it gives you 41.66 they will round his holding down to 41,and then times the 41 by 7 giving 287.Sorry to be petty,but I believe that is how works.

stevenr - if your broker hasn't contacted you by Friday, give them a ring. They will give you the options and dates. You should have the rights to 291 new shares at 508p.

Gary, purely as a matter of interest, I've put a somewhat cheeky offer in for some stock here this morning in the hope that it might get triggered in the chaos that MAY ensue this morning with the ex rights goings on, etc. You just never know.....

Gary, I sold because I have seen this many times before. The new shares often weigh on the market and simple supply/demand dynamic weakens the share price.
