04/8/2021 19:25 | I think also with these companies they must at some point be viewed as takeover targets by big US players. Aviva especially now it has slimmed down. | rcturner2
04/8/2021 19:13 | My thoughts on LGEN/PHNX was I would far invest in annuity liabilities than actually take out on annuity | williamcooper104
04/8/2021 18:54 | This is by far the largest holding in my Income Portfolio, having added heavily when it looked like a chart breakout was due around May 2020 - which luckily then occurred. Comfortable sticking with a decent-sized holding, though, because the capital seems as safe as anywhere else on the LSE and obviously the yield is great. And by the time run off becomes an issue, I figure I won't be around to worry .. Also recently dipped my toe in at CSN. Similar good yield plus possible acquisition target for PHNX one day. | bluemango
04/8/2021 18:38 | Such a lof of us... I have benn in Aviva since 2010 at average of 300p. Phoenix since 2015 (avg after trading of £5), but a baby with LGEN atDecember 2018. Thay have all earned me over 10% compounded with "trading" and dividends. Very handy base underlying small caps and mid caps... | edmundshaw
04/8/2021 18:22 | Patience Will still be yielding about 6% at 8 pounds a share !! | panshanger1
04/8/2021 16:27 | i hold lgen phnx and mandg sold my direct line when they gave the buyback to GS - i'm sure they;ll short it and i have always felt iffy re direct line | adejuk
04/8/2021 15:42 | Hopefully this is going to push past £7 soon. Surely? | my retirement fund
04/8/2021 15:23 | If I may join the smug git parade, I've been in LGEN and PHNX since 2016, but not AV or MNG. Am I too late for the latter? | stonesfan
04/8/2021 15:17 | Perhaps we all deserve .... | skinny
04/8/2021 15:08 | Yep; have been in LGEN since 2013-14 - when I finally got out of Lloyds Have held the aviva prefs since around 2010-11 Threw in the towel on CSN and put my proceeds into LGEN and PHNX | williamcooper104
04/8/2021 14:43 | A decade + for me with LGEN & AV, 7 years with PHNX and recently added a comparatively small amount of MNG. | skinny
04/8/2021 14:39 | Me too, all three. | thamestrader
04/8/2021 13:50 | agreed Mr Turner...I'm one!! | bothdavis
04/8/2021 12:49 | I'm sure there is a massive crossover with investors who have holdings in PHNX, LGEN and AV. | rcturner2
04/8/2021 12:47 | LGEN looking very good on that front this morning | williamcooper104
04/8/2021 12:44 | Indeed.....purchase shares......receive dividends.....reinve | bothdavis
04/8/2021 05:55 | I have invested in PHNX since June 2017. I also took part in the June 2018 rights issue. It is mainly a "safe" income play and as such has served me well. We will soon know about our next dividend. PHNX should be throwing off dividends for years to come! I look forward to receiving more and letting the trend continue: | lauders
03/8/2021 12:58 | Porsche1945 - Do you ever post anything constructive - positive even? | skinny
03/8/2021 12:48 | Define "crater" in pence per share , please. | fenners66
03/8/2021 12:06 | Briggs seems to be working the same “ magic “ (not) that he did at Aviva. Cant work out why they didnt look for someone better, another sub standard journeyman UK lacklustre CEO. No wonder ftse 100 at Dec 1999 level. Pitiful. This will crater ex dividend, better to trade it between dividends, like Direct Line, zero growth. | porsche1945
01/8/2021 23:52 | Yes, interim results due in 9 days' time. Yield is 7.1%. Expect they'll stick to the 24.1p dividend as paid after last final results. Interim dividend will be payable 3rd Sept. | bluemango
31/7/2021 12:05 | Results out 11th August. | killing_time
21/7/2021 18:04 | The US figures do show stark differences between different socio-economic groups and annuity holders are likely to be wealthier and thus healthier than the average population (grim but likely to be true) | williamcooper104
21/7/2021 17:54 | All of ours favourite grim subject https://www.npr.org/ | williamcooper104 |
