I don't think it's anything to be concerned about, just Swiss Re selling down their stake earlier than expected. Has created some short term pressure on share price, but can't see there being any long term impact.

Can anyone please explain the latest RNS as I have no idea what it means or what impact it may have.

Sold 12.5% of why long term holding in LLOY this morning and used the proceeds to buy PHNX at 6.76, to pretty much double my long term holding in PHNX. I don't plan to add further, but currently plan to retain this enlarged stake as a very long term hold for dividend income.

Best wishes,

NSB

Boonkoh - rising rates normally good for life insurers as reduces the future value of liabilities. There is a slide in the Phoenix presentation showing sensitivities - I checked this and a 73bps rate rise would have a 6% positive impact on Solvency ratio (increasing from 164% to 170%), increasing surplus by 0.1bn. So rising rates more positive if anything and I don't think a reason for any weakness here, which seems to be largely technical.

A problem for the technical investors will be the multiple H&S pattern formations. Each suggests a lower price if further support is broken. I hold PHNX.

PHNX is seeing weakness. Swiss RE stake needing to be sold at a discount, as well as market expectations for interest rates to rise quicker than expected. Interest rate rises will impact PBT.One expects Swiss RE to maybe sell their remainder of stake once lockup expires, so that will be another overhang for the next few months.Overall, I can see this drifting to 600-640p range.

Outside of some high risk stuff PHNX, MNG and Total are my largest holdings.

All for the dividend yield but going by PEs there is potential for capital growth also.

I am surprised to see PHNX hitting 660s today regardless. Its well overdone from 740s just a few weeks ago.

Added to my holding in PHNX, now my largest overtaking DLG. PHNX has been kind to me in the past so keeping my fingers crossed.

Bought at a pound in 2013 and added at 82p last March - so quite happy with BBOX.

Skinny, if your question is for me, my opinion only, but the large increase in volume on Friday suggests to me at least that somebody traded the placement info before it was out .

Bit late to the party this morning. Bloody work. Paid between 675 and 678 for a few. Highly envious of others here who picked then up in the 660s. Oh well.

I agree a bit more transparency would have been useful but if you're in for the long game frankly who cares?
