Tails wag as Pets at Home sees sales of pet cooling products
jump 447%
Pets at Home keeps furry friends cool this summer, as owners increasingly seek pet cooling
products to keep tails wagging.
• Total sales of pet cooling products up 447% on the Bank Holiday weekend
• Doggy paddling pool sales up 1239%
• Tens of thousands of pet water bottles sold so far this year
The recent heatwave has brought a surge of popularity for pet cooling products, such as travel
water bowls and doggy paddling pools, with sales over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend
accounting for 25% of the cooling products sold so far this year.
The rise in temperatures saw total sales of pet cooling products surge 447% compared to the
previous cooler weekend. As Britons dusted off the BBQ, pet owners flocked to buy doggy
paddling pools and cooling mats, with sales up 1239% and 516% respectively, compared with the
previous weekend.
Pet water bottles also proved a purr-fect solution to combating the heat. Pets at Home has sold
tens of thousands of pet water bottles so far this year, including thousands over the last bank
holiday weekend alone.
Committed to the pet care, Pets at Home stocks the products to help owners protect their pets
from heat exposure, which can cause dehydration and overheating. The most popular products in
the range include pet water bottles, doggy paddling pools, travel water bottles and pet cooling
mats.
Peter Pritchard, CEO, said: “At Pets at Home, pet care is a huge priority for us and it is especially
important to take care of our pets in the summer when the weather is hot. Pets need shade, water
and fresh air and our pet cooling products are a great and easy way to enjoy the weather with

Pets at Home has attributed the impressive turnaround in the efficiency and standard of its temporary warehouse staffing and savings of £70,000 a year in training to national recruitment firm Encore Personnel.

After months of agency issues, Encore was contracted by Pets at Home to help transform the company’s temporary recruitment process at its distribution centre in Stoke-on-Trent and take responsibility for 40 per cent of its warehouse staff.

The national retailer will open at the Edge Lane development next week after agreeing terms on a 10,300 sq ft unit for 10 years.

Pets at Home will sit between between Wilko and Drome/Foot Asylum, having become the 22nd business to join the line-up at LSP since its first phase opening in October 2017.

agree, the whales can move markets. in pets case, the growth profile, although positive, got ahead of itself at 300p. But todays price represents value.

i think todays action might have been a probing move to test the market.

Trends can remain very persistent and indicate that the big boys are gradually unloading - I can recall people calling value around £3 and still hold, what's the point of that. Peoples calculations and perception as to when something is cheap doesn't move price, ultimately it's the big buyers and sellers that drive price and it's near all time low so sellers in control - that's bearish in anyone's book. Good luck if you think you can buy the bottom

agree, the problem with being "right on" is you become a hypocrite in someone else's eyes when you do something they morally disagree with. eg all these friends of the earth/eco warriors jetting of to south america to eat cheap beef burgers in the middle of a new jungle complex, that just displaced an whole indigenous tribe.
