22/1/2018 11:42 | Technically at least the price action since that low of £1.59 in November (when I filled my boots) has been positive and the chart looks good it keeps trying to break free only for the shorters to take control again. As for the TS who knows and yes the share price COULD ultimately get hammered unfortunately | john09
22/1/2018 11:41 | You can never tell. But of late bad news can signal a dramatic , some might even say overdone fall in rbe share price In a past day a share price might fall 5-10% on not very encouraging news, now 40-50% is not uncommon. | maximus57
22/1/2018 11:24 | There are various resistance levels. £1.84 is another from memory | john09
22/1/2018 11:03 | I wonder if that drop from 220p has simply been about an overhang ? If a fund had to buy some retailers for the next few years (obviously they have to buy some), is it going to choose a high-flying growth one, that might now be subject to slowdown, or a bombed out one (eg. MTC), or something that looks stable ? I reckon if the next statement looks stable, there could be good gains here just on the basis of that. | yump
22/1/2018 11:00 | Poor Nw99 got this wrong too | john09

21/1/2018 11:28 | Hopefully its 'business as usual'. Food sales should be flat or up a bit, unless there are a lot of overweight pets after Christmas. Living wage has already been absorbed in previous statements afaik and so have increased prices from imports. I don't know if people do more pet grooming at Christmas. There'll presumably be more pet treats sold. I don't think pets get winter flu, so vets shouldn't change. Not expecting any excitement; a simple 'no shocks' will do. | yump
21/1/2018 11:12 | We crossed above both the 50 day and the 200 day SMA last week which is generally positive. Chart also looking good. Only issue is I imagine there will be a trading statement next week and realistically though I can’t see much exciting news to share since the update on 28th November, and a pet store I wouldn’t imagine has too much of a festive spike . Looking back over the last 3 January’s the share price has had quite a pronounced reaction to the January update . 2015 a big jump, 2016 a big jump, 2017 a huge drop | john09
18/1/2018 17:15 | They've got a big sign outside about grooming and vets, but I generally do man-shopping and just go straight to what I want and straight out again - so something near the dog food or cat food might work - or just a mention on the checkout would do, without being pushy. I might mention it to someone if I can get through customer services to someone in marketing. Last time I tried that with a company, customer services kept trying to put me in the 'complaint' category and I kept saying its not a complaint, which totally threw them ! I guess if it doesn't fit into the standard consumer response questionnaire, nobody knows what to do with it. | yump
18/1/2018 16:04 | Yes agreed tump - crazy! We should mention this to management | gswredland
18/1/2018 13:01 | That same drop middle of the day again | john09
18/1/2018 08:55 | The one gripe I have is that they don't seem to be pushing the grooming/vet business when you're in store. At least not in ours. I've been in loads of times and they've never mentioned once that there is a groomers and vets upstairs. It took me to look up there a while ago to see them. No harm in mentioning it to each customer surely - or at least having some flyers to hand out on the checkout. Especially if you're buying dog food - I'm a prime potential customer for the grooming side (although wife does that). | yump |
