09/1/2018 16:37 | Well I suppose indirectly, they're getting paid because a lot of people are unable or unwilling to make up their own minds and that will include both pi's and quite a few fund managers. If you can refer to someone else to justify your action, that 'shares' the responsibility for the result. Although its pretty insignificant compared to the totally misleading 'news' about the stock market that appears on TV. Like featuring a 1% drop in the FTSE, when its already tanked by 25% in the previous 2 years. Or a jump when its already gained 100%. Quite pathetic and it encourages naieve pi's to invest or divest at the wrong time. I wonder how many sold instead of buying when the morning news said 'lowest point for 5 years' during 2003 or the recession. Or vice-versa. You could think it was a conspiracy, but actually its just pure ignorance imo. | yump
09/1/2018 15:07 | Pets at Home was the standout gainer as Stifel, which rates the stock at 'hold', updated its estimates to reflect a recent trend toward improved merchandise sales growth and greater margin investment. It also upped its price target on the stock to 175p from 172p. | nw99

09/1/2018 12:35 | Well if they've been resilient over Christmas then some of the worry money in other retailers might find its way over. There have certainly been a lot of fancy dog coats being worn in the park in the last few weeks. | yump
