Shorters don't get it right all the time, just look at how much shorting was done on Morrisons and overlay the share price the more they shorted it the higher it went.

I'm not sure hard times make people move to internet buying. That movement has been a 'natural' process over a long time now.

Isn't the question more about when that process levels out, or when retailers find the right number of outlets in balance to their internet offering, including adding services.

There's not a lot to add to a clothes shop, but at least there are live pets in the shops and a feel-good factor.

Although our local one doesn't seem to have a flood of people very often, but I only go when its quiet around that shopping area anyway.

So this may struggle a bit, but I don't think it should be lumped with all the others - that does happen and it might be a good opportunity, but obviously not for anyone who is already sitting on a substantial paper loss.

Unfortunately it got pumped up a bit to quite a high p/e considering the lack of forecast growth.

Hopefully, they haven't got too much of a legacy of shops that underperform, but they have got the benefit of an established brand, as a result of those shops.

There seem to be lots of contradictions here, which probably explains the analysts' mixed comments.

When does their close period start? You'd think they might want to bring forward their results in reaction to the price movement.

Agreed, but will that pull the revenue needed to justify & sustain the rent on all the shopping parks?

Part of the reason they have expanded their network of vets and grooming services and are generating increasing revenues from them.

They reported struggling with the products due to competition with on-line retailers, especially Amazon. There's been an article released on yahoo finance by motley fool. Noted as high risk.

In theory, if its the adjustment to UK growth that just been announced that is causing another drop, it doesn't make sense, because this should actually be a defensive stock against retailer downturn.

Who cuts down on spending on their pets, or looks for cheaper products when the going gets tough ?
