It is meant to be considerate. There is a real threat of suspension here on two fronts. Firstly due to clarification of the company's financial position and secondly the accounts. The auditors cannot sign off the accounts under the current circumstances for POG is not a going concern until the sanctions are lifted and it is able to service the debts it has defaulted on.

Too many good Samaritans on this board...although at times it's hard to believe but the tone of 'be careful' sounds so considerate!

Don't make light of a serious situation. If attempts to instigate the waiver are blocked its curtains. The FCA do act on issues of national importance and sanctions against Russia is one of them.

Yes because the FCA which is a government body can advise POG it is breaking the law. Furthermore POG has only stated GPB have allowed a waiver not that they will oblige by it.Again be careful.

How wonderful it must be to live ones life interpreting warnings as good news. "No entry" - oh look, they are inviting me in. "No through road" - oh look, a short cut. "No parking" - oh look, plenty of spaces available.

Any third party that is happy with such an arrangement has a risk appetite beyond the norm. Presumably they are requiring handsome rewards for that.

Barge pole job for me.

Yes but is the waiver from GPB allowing POG to sell to a third party in breach of the UK Russian sanctions. This is what they should have clarified in the RNS. Moves to get around the sanctions are also prohibited.

So POG sells the gold to a third party they pocket the money and when/if the sanctions are lifted they repay GPB allowing GPB to use the POG's gold money as collateral. If POG don't hand over the money GPB will make attempts to seize the Russian subsidiaries.

Lets see how the UK government and the FCA interpret this work around.
