Yes, once the debt burden begins to lighten the value of equity contained within should rise as a consequence, ceteris paribus

I would be more inclined to say that these are rather exciting times.

What a crying shame that the debt burden continues to strangle the equity stake of shareholders.

The Interfax news agency reported that the 22% stake in Petropavlovsk was purchased by Kazakh businessman Kenges Rakishev, the former largest shareholder in Kazakhstan's Kazkommertsbank and a co-owner of Kazakhstan-focused base metals producer Central Asia Metals via his Cyprus-based firm Fincraft Holdings.

Renova dumping? Or aquiring more? This is worrying, in 5 years POG need $500m to pay off the new bone issue, not to mention a further $100m in 2019 to pay what's left of the last bond debacle off. That's $600m POG have to find in the next 5 or so years to clear debt.Otherwise it's a new debt crisis for them question is what's going on behind the scenes now. Take over? Buyout? POG share price should have recovered significantly more by now if everything was going as swimmingly as they are making out.....

Correct me if I am wrong but it would appear some
major shareholders have reduced by 27.9% of the
company, now who has bought. dyor

Looks to me as though someone is playing flash trading games here? Price action (lack of, and then lot of independent of 'buys' and 'sells') of late is very strange indeed.....
Enough to make it seem that this is being controlled by trading patterns rather than demand...WDIK and all that....
'tis bizarre in my view.

bambo, with the debt now sorted for a few years, POG can concentrate on expanding production, with POX, underground etc. Would expect this to reach 700K ounces per yr in 2 years. Is $500M too much debt for a gold miner of that size? Certainly not IMO and especially if the gold price rises stongly (Which I expect it will).

I think a divi will will paid in 12 - 13 months.

A big chunk paid off the debt takes priority over a divi in my view.

Looks like more good news is needed, that will be regarding underground and POX progress. What would really get this going would be a reinstatement of the divi......

may just be that everyone is waiting to see what the new guys do next and is it going to be beneficial to all of us or just themselves. Guns on the ready.

After the events of the last month, bottom line I have to ask myself , simply, is this good or bad news for us PI,s going forward, or are we going to get shafted in the long term? The only small consolation I take from the current situation,is that the share price isabove the 7.07p, which it opened atafter the AGM, when the new Board took control in late June.Relevant or not who knows?

it certainly looks like someone is holding back the share price for whatever reason and it makes me feel very uncomfortable. I feel this is not going to end well.

Who knows wtf is going on here. You would have thought with the bond issue, the increased grading from the bond agencies and all the good news coming out we may have expected some sort of rise. Well at least it is still hanging on in there at around 8p.....
