The fact that M&G are involved here rings all kind of alarm bells with me: look at what happened to GKP's share price after they stuck their ore in (citing exactly the same 'corporate governance' reasons).

IMHO it can't be good for UK private investors to have the company controlled by Renova.

I hope people vote against Renova. Even if you don't much like Hambro (and I'm not a massive fan of him myself), simply ask yourself which option at the helm is likely to work out best for you in the long run...

Say what you want about Hambro, at least he offered us PIs the option to retain are percentage holding in 2015 (even if it was painful) and didn't just force a massive dilution on us (again, as ultimately happened to GKP shareholders after M&G ousted Mr Kozel from GKP's board).

I hope everybody thinks very carefully about how they vote here. I have already voted against Renova's proposals myself.

It probably won't do much good, but I've written to the CEO of M&G expressing my wish as a retail investor that M&G changes its position and supports the current board on June 22nd.

The reasons I've cited are that:

(1) Vekselberg/Renova/Lamesa have a track record of shafting minority investors in previous corporate actions in Switzerland. These look amazingly similar to the situation with POG and have been 'takeovers by stealth'.

(2) the current board is doing a decent job and should be supported.

(3) Vekselberg is not someone that M&G/Prudential should in principle be supporting. He's been under investigation for bribery and corruption, his companies have been fined for market malpractice. Basically he's a ruthless oligarch who couldn't give tuppence for the interests of retail investors.

I sold my shares yesterday.

However, I got a phone call from someone representing POG today. How would he have got my number as I use an online broker ?

sold out today. good luck holders, still lots of value here but personally hate all this boardroom hassle. - Especially from Russian based companies. It can drag on. Hope it gets sorted soon.

It is my opinion that the share price of late has been entirely controlled through methods I know not how......that is my conspiracy theory anyway!! :-)
