crudde99, The answer to that is no, it wouldn't make any difference who was at the helm. Large decline rates are expected for the first couple of months on new wells, having said that they have only drilled two out of five horizontal wells on Tungolskoye. To be honest if Natlata had got their way last year we would be producing about 1500 bopd now or less as we would have had no new production and would still have $ 30 million debt plus interest hanging over us, and the way things panned out with oil price etc. there would be no light at the end of the tunnel.

To be fair would it really matter if Natlata and co. were running Ptr...??? Well decline can't be avoided I guess...!!!

I appreciate that Steelwatch...............losing 250 bopd from t-503 and L-10 over a 4-week period is the real question? As I said one step forwards and 2 back. If Natlata were to put ANY half decent offer on the table I'd vote to take it. Carlo

Regrettably, though bod did great to get the farmout. Now with little change in attitude towards investor concerns and arrogance in thinking investors won't pick up the background news and we are all here for shareholder value, diddly squid since farmout!...it's time for a little shake up imo. But I doubt it will have enough votes. Nor oil be happy but hey ho lets see how it goes...Imo. Dyor. Gla. #change

The old BOD are still stuck in their bunker trying their best to polish the newsflow with little effect on the perception of the investing public at large. It is time for a clear out at BOD level as they keep on showing their inability to run the business that can grow in value.Let's hope Natlata and OI decide to shake up the old and tired management team.Wee Tom is obviously busy over at PCI assisting BB. DF should really just sell up and retire in a gentlemanly manner. PD should resign and try and look for pastures new.Come on Natlata you know you just need to give them a little push for the Company to move forward with fresh blood. The AGM could be a catalyst for action at long last.VGLTA

Good spot...As previously noted this morning:Poor figures imo, net in increase by 100 over last update.+400 from new well-150 on first horizontal well...so should be net +250Where is the other -150 coming from?!Poor figures. Time to do some research on natlata and overseas and see what their intentions are. Another not clear RNS........Edit. Other -100 from l-10 so -50 is general fall or due to common rounding word like 'over, about, above, near' etc

If we keep losing approx 400 bpd in between new well results how the heck do we expect to grow production in any significant way..?? it's nice to bring in a 450 bpd well, but not so great when we lose 300 bpd in between well results...!! How does Ptr expect to grow production with this type of production decline guys..??

carlo - the odd 100 will be decline elsewhere or due to offline maintenance, but more likely the former.

Talk about "running fast to stand still"????? On August 12th we were told that gross production as c.2,600 bopd. Today we have an RNS that we have brought T-502 on line at a sustained rate of 450 bopd..........however T-503 has gone from over 500 bopd to around 400 bopd over the last 4 weeks and L-10 has dropped from 230 bopd to 130 bopd over the same 4-week period. Simple maths would suggest that this would be a net increase of c.200 bopd. But not for Petroneft.................we have gone from gross production of "about 2,600 bopd" to a gross production of "about 2,700 bopd"!!! Will we ever get to a decent production figure with this company?? I am not sure whether or not I can make the AGM but if I do and there is a vote to oust any members of the current Board I will be voting to get rid of them! Carlo

Is this some kind of charm offensive - that is two RNS's at 4 weekly intervals - most unusual in PTR world or is it just that we have got more going on.

Not many posts today re. the latest RNS. That's it (news wise) for now I guess unless there is some surprise at the AGM.

Goodbody's have their spoke: "PetroNeft Operations update – production momentum An update from PetroNeft this morning demonstrates the benefit of recent investment on the production base. A result from the latest horizontal well at Tungolskoye (T-502) is provided, which has been brought on line at a sustained rate of over 450 bopd. That compares to the prior horizontal well at Tungolskoye (T-503), which is currently producing at 400 bopd. The impact is reflected in total production for Licence 61, which is currently running at 2,700 bopd, a 46% increase YTD, and up from 2,400 bopd in July and c.2,000 bopd in March. The forward programme includes the T-507 vertical well, which is currently being logged and will ultimately be used as a water injection well to provide pressure support to the T-502 and T-501 horizontal wells. On completion, the rig will drill the T-501 well, the next horizontal well in the drilling schedule. We assume an average rate for the year of 2,831 bopd (gross), with recent momentum suggesting that PetroNeft will at least exit the year in excess of that target."

Mediocre news. So we should expect a bounce in the Share price now.

I thought this was most revealing in the RNS ""This will include a longer planned clean-up and stabiliisation period before reporting initial well rates.Dennis Francis."" Note the L-10 well that we were told was producing 230 PopD dropped back to 130bopd in less than a month, on a Hz well too!. disappointing. It seems they now realise that the production figures are very volatile and really time is needed. However, I disagree, I think the figure should e released and with a note attached to say that more accurate figures will follow

Incidentally, we don't know the result of the T-507 yet as it is currently being logged. We are now looking forward to the T-507 vertical well and T-501 horizontal well results

granto - T-507 was a stratigraphic well on the edge of the known structure. See my post: http://uk.advfn.com/cmn/fbb/thread.php3?id=17857802&from=28613&to=28613

I think in future if PTR put out the salary cost per barrel of oil produced it would be of more use to the market to evaluate the BODs performance.Anyone care to request PD to do it at the AGM.VGLTA

Was T=507 expected to be oil=less? they drilled very deeply. It has a purpose as a water injector but it would have been better to strike oil. At least T-502 was successful. Not the highest Bopd considering it was 950 meter pipe.

Well ravin, I don't think your target is possible now and the lower end may not be hit either. 12 August Total Production 2600 L-10 was 230, now 130 so - 100 T502 was 500+, now 400 so -100+ .....T503 flowing at 400 +400 Decline from all others -100 10 September Total Production 2700

Davy's Stockbrokers Morning briefing states the bleeding obvious regarding challenging markets: "Petroneft Update on Siberian production September 10 2015 | Job Langbroek | Morning briefing | 1 page(s) | Read Important Disclosures Efforts to build up the production profile at Petroneft’s operations in western Siberia continue with the latest horizontal well making a further positive contribution. Very challenging markets continue to underline the value of the farm-out completed in 2014 which is providing a capital base to grow the production profile."
