CruddeWe all agree on one thing that is the BOD not buying sends out a message.DF has a fair lump PD a few and the rest different amounts. The lack of buying says more of the people than the situation.Let's hope the newsflow includes something that makes the BOD rise to the plateVGLTA

sean.... what if Natlata were the instigators of a possible hostile bid...?? There goes that safety net. Don't know if one could describe the trading over the last number of days as chunky ( relatively speaking perhaps ) as it in total only represents approx 2% of the available stock. Look if some predator takes us out "on the cheap " good luck to them. We are where we are at sub 5p and that's not a potential buyers problem nor fault..!! Has anyone noticed our own directors purchasing even a solitary share that they could vote with to fend of an unwanted and perceived LOW BALL bid...??? Naaaaaaaaaaaawww....!!!! Must be the only PLC that is in a closed period 365 days per year, every year.

Looking forward to the first horizontal well going into full max production...hopefully 700+. Then we are talking on the same road to 4000y/e....as for oil india's 20,000 time will tell...that must also be conservative!

The BOD are far too busy to be looking out for a bidder. With Natlata sitting there they do not have to worry about being taken out by a hostile bid!Let's see how the year end numbers look which should be out in two weeks.A bit of decent news on how drilling is going would help the wait for the projected year end doubling of output.VGLTA

Those trades don't seem to be affecting the sp, Rav. Might be one of those II swaps going on like in March. If it keeps up I'd expect a holdings RNS.

Steel..........Yes that is an impressive interview and I see no reason for that projection to have altered much.
I,m sure that I have read somewhere that India/Russia have agreed a working pact re business agreement/policies....... can you throw any light?

From a 2012 Oil India interview:

"This year we have earmarked about INR 7,000 crore towards acquiring assets or companies with producing assets. These would predominantly be oil and gas assets, but considering the potential for long-term scope for shale oil, shale gas, CBM etc, we are also keen to enter into these areas".

Could be part of your perception of a greater plan Base (re. the Bazhenov Formation)?

Hello Spudders.........2007 was my entry to PTR also and been here ever since.
Since the agreement with OI, I have been adding a few when funds allowed.....my view is that OI would have made careful in-depth searches into all aspects of the PTR business(including Political scene) and it is my view that PTR was their first move into a greater plan for this area..........we will see.

Raising Target Price

Good operational progress

What's new
PetroNeft's recent operations update (22 May) highlighted good progress on all its Tomsk region, Russia, developments. Most notable, for the mid/longer term, is the Sibkrayevskoye #373 well test at 100 bopd (stabilised, natural flow) from the 11.5m net oil pay. The company thinks that this could produce >2x that rate using a downhole pump. The field represents 45% of the company's Licence 61 2P reserves, and so it is a key part of the longer term production growth plans. PetroNeft plans a reserve update - for which the company sees the potential for an increase - at end '15, which will also incorporate the recently acquired 1,000 km 2D seismic over the licence. A development decision on Sibkrayevskoye is expected in Q3 '15, with a view to first production in '16.
More relevant to the short/mid term, the Tungolskoye field is now ready to start production following completion of the 25km pipeline to the Lineynoye CPF. The line is being filled by T-5 production. In addition, well T-51B, the first of a planned 10-12 development well programme, has spudded. We expect the Tungolskoye field to be the primary driver of production growth over the next 1-2 years.

Overall, gross production (from Arbuzovskoye and Lineynoye) has declined to 1,950 bopd.

Canaccord Genuity view
The operational updates this year have shown good progress since the 50% farm-out of Licence 61 about a year ago ($35m cash payment from Oil India enabling PTR to repay all its debt, and a further $45m committed spend on licence 61, which we anticipate will result in a full carry for PTR into 2016). The advances have not yet filtered through to production, but we would expect the benefits to be felt in H2 '15 and accelerate in '16, with very positive implications for operating cashflow.

Valuation
We have taken this opportunity to modify our field riskings (Sibkrayevskoye: to 50% from 40%; Tungolskoye Phase 1: to 90% from 80%; Arbuzovskoye: to 100% from 95%) but we have also trimmed our production growth rate expectations a little following the recent production update and after small adjustments to our production profile. The result is that our NPV12.5 central valuation remains 6.6 p/share, but considering the on-the-ground progress, we increase our TP to 7p/sh. We maintain our Speculative BUY rating as we continue to recognise the risks associated with the Russian operations, and the uncertainties related to the production growth profile.

Catalysts
FY '14 results (late June), ongoing operational and production updates.

2,000 bopd 2015 to an Oil ltd predicted 20,000 bopd by 2020.I make that a 10 x multiple in 5 years.

SpuddersHope you get your average down a bit. I would like to see a bidder come along but cannot see anything like your 15p being achieved for a good while.Buying at current levels to average down would seem a fairly obvious move as the current share price is still under the last fund raising (which was pre-farmout).Well the next few months will showwhere we are going with the SP, success with the horizontal wells - up strongly!VGLTA

Sean, I agree it has been a disaster for LTH's 😠 me being here since 2007, I'm not sure PTR will ever get to 20k bopd before being taken out, but I'm optimistic we will see substantial upside in production in the next couple of years.

I have started to add again to pull my 15p average down to single digits. Not a good strategy but I feel this will come good. Any other LTH's adding.

If the horizontal drills work out it is not hard to project numbers like 20k a few years out as funding is now sorted.Let's hope they do for all long time holders it might be a way out of what has been a long term disaster for their original investment.VGLTA

Wow...just caught up on this bb...Oil India's annual quoting, '20,000' bopd by 2020!

I knew they had done their homework prior to funding half the operations...must have looked at previous seismic data or maybe done a private seismic analysis, who knows. I assume that is not a target, but something that they believe as attainable. This does not even include Ptr's other interests...
