ravin. Put simply the board consider the current share price nowhere reflects the assets and have decided to see what interest and valuation other oil companies have in the two licences. At present small Russian oil companies are out of favor on the market and could take a long time to change. Oil India have agreed with Petroneft that if Petroneft could get a realistic offer for licence 61 they would be willing to sell, any offer would also have to be approved by shareholders. Arawak have expressed they would be willing to sell Licence 67 on the same basis.. Denis Francis did not want to be drawn on a valuation but did say / indicate multiples of the current share price Of there is no guarantee an offer will be made for either licence or if made that it will be acceptable to Oil India and /or Arawak and also the shareholders of Petroneft. They are also seeking funding to develop L-8 location at west Lineynoye, two or three good horizontal wells here could double production at low cost. Updated presentation should be on website soon.

I do not expect any news from PTR in anything other than a tardy manner. Even if this latest well flows and the POO hits $100 this lot would still make a loss.

Looks like then end for all aboard the jolly ship PTR. DF will no doubt fight hard and get another years salary out of the corpse as thats always been his way. The young and energetic PD will really now have to go out and find a proper job. Its hard to understand how these two managed to make such large losses over such a long time without being fired. GLTA

Exactly! What is the point in throwing more money down the drain to travel to the AGM and listen to more drivel about how great everything is going to be next year.... come on then db, tell us what we are all missing here?

Russia-focused oil and gas company PetroNeft Resources said it was mulling the disposal of its production licences after it posted a first half loss. Pre-tax losses for the six months through June amounted to $683k, narrowing from a loss of $1.2m on-year. Rising revenue was more than offset by operating and finance costs. PetroNeft said it had engaged financial advisers with joint venture partner Oil India to evaluate the disposal of Licence 61 in Russia. 'While we are only in the early stages of this process and there is no certainty that any transaction will be completed, we have seen an encouraging level of interest from a range of well-financed industry players,' it said. 'Furthermore, once the testing of the C-4 well at Licence 67 is complete we will consider a similar process for Licence 67, working with Arawak.'

Same old news from DF sadly its always something for the future. Even a simple flow test seems to be going on for such a time that we all get bored with waiting.
