I still think no news for January from PTR might be no bad thing.The current turmoil in the Oil market is leading to the predictions of sub $30 Brent prices and at this level most Oilers are in trouble.PTR has no real liabilities coming due so is in a good position to ride this spell out .VGLTA

loll so it is a yes then granto. Of course t-5 has to be 300-400 i.e satisfactory/as expected and then a reserve update...if the former fails to deliver I'd say in addition to the Russian problems this will hit record lows....so that t-5 better be at least ok!

The share price of most of these types of players is influenced far more by production than reserves.

ravin, PTR has an abidance of reserves so I am not as confident as you are that an increase in reserves will dramatically boost this. I think it is mostly going to be lifted (if at all) by the improvement of day to day production. Yes reserve finds will help.

I don't think it will happen now...a good t-5 result will not be enough to push this to even 7p....a miraculous surprising reserve upgrade is needed.

True Rav but it just reflects that we are now financially safe whereas last year PTR were in danger of going under due to loans coming due for repayment.Let's hope when the market for E&Ps recovers we will finally see PTR attain a fair valuation on the share price VGLTA

good assessment Sean. It was interesting listening to DF say that the downturn has actually given PTR some opportunities as other companies suffer. Pity he didn't elaborate on that. I wonder did he mean other companies cannot produce at this price level leaving PTR as a remaining supplier. Or did he mean buying opportunities? I'm sure some companies must be facing bankruptcy so PTR is in a reasonable position

The way the market is for E&Ps it might be best for all invested here if any news was left for a while and released as a more comprehensive update on all operations not just T5. I feel whatever results T5 achieves will be ignored in the current malaise of falling oil prices (and forcasts of sub $40 dont help any E&Ps).
The fact that PTR is funded makes for comfort in that the company can actually get through the current downturn and if the production rises the share price will eventually follow.

right now in Russia is the equivalent to the UKs Christmas week, so while work in the field continues you can be sure many people will insist on being home with family. will this impact on RNS timing. I doubt it, but in any case, PTR are not the fastest fish in the tank, so perhaps in will be February after all,

Ravin - I doubt work in the field stops because of holidays. Looking back, there was an operational announcement on 5 January 2011, but not in the same period in other years.



This year, I imagine any news in January will depend on the T5 and A103 results as to timing of the next release. In fact, for all I know, they may even wait until February to include spudding S373.

As I said before, from past experience PTR seems to prefer to bundle a number of events in to periodic general ops updates at roughly 6 - 8 week intervals. Whether they will continue to do so, I have no idea, but if I'm right, February seems more likely.

sean, I think Steel is right here, they did give us an update, it wasn't overly comprehensive but it was adequate. We will have news in the coming 2 weeks, If its all quiet come 20th Jan then I think we can complain. I think OIl will operationally assist but hardly assist in terms of Public Relations within PTR.

C99, definitely not one for widows or orphans. Back in the old days I felt and many others this could become a mid cap now we are a penny share with little or no interest from new investors, only vultures that want to pick us up for a song. Oil barrel conference did the world of good "not" for the share price and now the poo has hit us along with Putins antics. Too many undervalued shares with good prospects on the market, why would anyone take on risk here 😟. Oh well, let's see what plays out in 2015. Best of Luck

spudders... Lets hope for a good year. However we always seem to be looking days weeks months or a year ahead with Ptr, then come year end we have a habit of been in reverse re. the share price ..... Surely not a stock to recommend to the faint hearted...??

Not the best of starts for the share price Maybe next week when the market is back in full swing things will start to improve. Lots happening this year which should bode well for the share price IF all goes to plan bwdik
