Settlement can come at any time. Presumably that's what the $400m debt raise and account delay is about...... whooooosh :)

If missing out on a big profit hurts, it's your problem (and it's evidently something that worries you..) :)

"and shorts know this..." no bigger myth in the market than that shorts are all seeing and knowing. You've been better off sticking your money in an s&p tracker over the last 10 years than trusting those duds :)

SFO are despicable - in effect they are holding back information. They can't wait to tell you when all is going their way. But as soon as it's not they clam up. They kick the sh1t out of hard working companies to be the self-appointed guardians of ALL the world. There could easily be legal claims made against them. Meanwhile - in the days when we used to have investigative journalism - one would have expected some clever ambitious media reporter to snag the story and cause some havoc. These days too many just don't bother. But you never know. JMHO

Any lawyer worth their salt would say hang on a minute, my client isnt going to do jail time when the SFO has obtained.this evidence illegally, following the KBR case. If he gets off, PFC gets off. 9 pounds pre sfo, 4 pounds pre COVID. Gla shorters. You will need it

The Lufkin adjournment came a day or so after the SFO were ruled against in the KBR Case on 5th Feb: "The Serious Fraud Office’s ability to compel evidence from overseas was dealt a blow in the Supreme Court on Friday in a ruling that underlines the limits of its powers to tackle the increasing cross-border nature of financial crime.  “This is a serious blow to the SFO. Without being able to use its [Section 2 powers] overseas, the agency finds itself in a peculiar position of having the power to prosecute overseas companies/individuals, but with limited powers to investigate them,” said Kyle Phillips, a criminal lawyer at Fieldfisher, adding: “When the [Criminal Justice] Act was created in the 80s the world was a smaller place.” hTTps://www.ft.com/content/0f5dd7b2-5f6d-422e-a887-4356af54d592 I suspect the 'redirect' in Lufkin's case is related to this ruling. I would also suggest any pending case, in relation to the SFO investigation of PFC is pretty much scuppered as any evidence gathered would have to involve overseas documentation... now deemed inadmissible! I would not be surprised to hear from the SFO in relation to the PFC investigation long before June and the Lufkin case's redirection. But of course, I'm no expert but that's how I'm reading things. As they say, WTFDIK!

Seems a case of if they could have, then they would have and ultimately this will just fizzle out. Meantime this company is trading at a pretty significant discount

So there is to be a directions hearing for Lufkin on 21 June 21 https://www.sfo.gov.uk/court-calendar/page So why was the poor fellow not sentenced? Well it seems extremely obvious if there is to be a directions hearing: Directions Hearing: a hearing for the judge to review the case and consider whether there needs to be further information or action taken by the parties. You could hardly make it up. The SFO are in denial, they're in big do doo and they know it. JMHO

I would guess the SFO are praying that their case against Paul Bond (Unaoil) gets a guilty verdict. The case has been continually held up for legal submissions but is very near a conclusion: https://www.thelawpages.com/court-hearings-lists/crown-court-daily/60/lists/2021-02-18 Previously a judge has whacked Lisa Osofsky's conduct https://www.complianceweek.com/regulatory-enforcement/sfo-secures-two-unaoil-convictions-but-judge-critical-of-director/29183.article The SFO is clearly not fit for purpose and could face stunning litigation for misconduct following the KBR business etc. The Treasury needs to clip its financial wings. Being short here is like russian roulette. The bullet is the SFO. If that explodes it will be a minor GameStop for shorts. Someday. JMHO GLA

Fully agree and have said for many years, the stock markets are run by crooks and if you invest accordingly you won't go far wrong. Makes me titter when I hear investors taking note of Goldman sucks recs to buy into a sector lol. Anyway thats another story. But yea, whatever will happen will happen, but at the end of the day once it's sorted this will soar. IMHO

As far as I can see, if the SFO "think" a company is guilty, they will simply keep the investigation open until the company is willing to enter into a sizeable DPA. It's a protection racket that the Mafia would be proud of.
