My core holding is now inviolate. I will be adding on any dips below 450p. The oil price is stable/increasing, business in the sector is picking up, and there is likely to be an influx of cash from the sale of North Sea operations. If, despite all this, the ludicrously low valuation does not improve then there will, imo, soon be a bid at 30-40% more than the current valuation. In view of what's on offer,. perhaps there may be a bidding war which could serve to further enhance the takeout price.

Not worth the risk being out now, imo. Another contract RNS will have it rocketing and if it's a Bid - then it's game over, gotta be 550p+

VK74. Your points.
1) I am not here for 25.-30P. I am here for £1.50/2.50 or maybe more.
2)The share price was not already priced for the good news.
3) A particular day has nothing to do with the share price
4) Xmas is coming ! Have you not heard of the Santa Rally ?
Very weak reasons I think.
Even some of the Fund Managers got it wrong. They thought PFC would get no business because of the SFO investigation.Well they have also been proven wrong.Business is booming.I posted yesterday that II's will probably start buying.Well the share price is going up ! Who are the buyers? Watch the Shorts running for the hills. Not long to wait either. Always hold on to a core holding.
Topazfrenzy is right is his post.
AIMHO. Then again, everyone to their own.

The only way is up here VK74, this will be 550p IMO before we know it.

But then I fully own my shares so can afford to take the ups and downs, and collect the dividend in the process.

Thanks 5‰I really wish for everyone to make money here.My position right now is to reenter when the price is a bit better. These are my reasons for selling 2 days ago.1. It was 25-30 pence up already2. The share price was already priced for the good news. Only with unexpectedly great news the share price would go further up.3. It's Friday today and most Fridays the share price goes down.4. Xmas is coming and people don't want to lock money over bank holidays.

Re:Dyslexia

No problem as long as you make money.

My brother is dyslexic and he is very good at maths and at making money so it must be a good thing.

May the profits roll in.

Woodhowk,Husbod and Bouleversee, great posts by you all three of you.
Yes one low for the top class another for the working class. Give me a break from the clean sanctimonious politics and the politicians. let's just give our top Co's to the Yanks or whoever wants to get the bargains.
I know so,for I was a holder of PAYS and that was stolen by the Yanks because the Directors cashed in big time.. FCA no teeth.
SFO just to get their wages and their ring fenced pensions.
Don't the SFO boasts that all their expenses are now met by the fines !!
Dealing in the Middle East without a bung?? The Arabs would grin in you face.
Anyway good luck with all your investments.AIMHO of course.

Anyone else fed up with the sanctimonious and other worldly view of the SFO? Although I gained nicely on AMEC and hope to do so here I just can't help thinking that the French and German corporations let alone the Yanks and obviously the Chinese and Russians have no scruples about backhanders etc as corrupt dealing is the only way of getting contracts in half the world and I bet their government agencies don't hound them. Still, we have to be whiter than white.

Woodhawk -

Completely agree. We will be left with the dross. Haven't got over ARM yet and various others I held, some of which were in temporary difficulties. The directors cash in big-time, of course.

I do worry that one day, when we've sold off what little remains of everything this country has built-up and developed over the centuries, what will be left? A load of briefly triumphant Brexiteers enjoying a 'Golden Age' of penury, destitution and isolationism. safe in the knowledge that they have regained 'control' of SFA!!!?!! What a fiasco. Still, at least some of us can make a few quid as we disappear down the sink-hole of history.

Woodhawk, thanks for your input. Yes I agree with your views re T/O.I don't think PFC will be a UK Co for much longer.

Anyone interested in a good mining Co. please look up GFM (Griffin Mining) No debit.
I think it is going to pay back well.I bought in this AM and am in profit already.
As always DYOR. NAI.
Apologies in advance re O/T.

Quotes from the Daily Telegraph today:

"The company has also defied investor fears by continuing to snap up lucrative service contracts even as the investigation rumbles on.

But the probe has nonetheless wiped billions from the group’s market value, leaving the company vulnerable to a takeover.

Petrofac is understood to be preparing for a potential takeover approach from a larger oilfield service company which may be interested in taking advantage of its depressed share price.

Petrofac told investors in an end-of-year trading update that in total the group had secured $5.2bn worth of new orders this year.

Mr Asfari said the group had seen “a recovery” in new order intake in 2017."

NB: "Vulnerable to a takeover" ... watch this space! My money is on Schlumberger - current market cap $86 Billion. Chicken feed to them. Petrofac have sold stakes in operations to them in the past. Why pay for stakes when you could get the whole company for a song?

IMO this is a good opportunity to buy or top up in this depressed share price
At the end of the day we also have a decent dividend.
The positives outweigh any negative and the most important of them is that business is still booming and customers have a great confidence in PFC and its management.
PFC still stands as an excellent and outstanding business.

Such is the enigma of share prices nobody really knows why share prices move like they do unless there is news to justify it. If the SFO turned around tomorrow and said oops sorry our mistake nothing to do with Petrofac the share price wouldn't go back to where it was before.
Probably go to about £7 with s slow climb from there.
I never worry too much about these movements because long term the fundamentals are fine so there will eventually be a steady climb up.
