Maybe let’s try and break 460p resistance first!🙄

In for the long haul topped up 400p, got enough now, takeover rumours are just that, not much reaction yesterday but let’s see what happens over the next few weeks, need oilorices to stay elevated to keep the sector in the spotlight

The current spread is 395p-450p.But it was that yesterday morning at this time.I do believe we will not see PFC beginning with a 3 again. But you never know in this market.

It was £7.87 billion in 2016 I believe.

Woodhawk - £6 is a fair initial offer. I expect at least £7.5 - £8.5 the final settlement offer because as you say, not only one oiler is interested but many.
So competition will increase the share price and the CEO would be delighted to forget his nightmare. So if an offer is made I am almost certain PFC will take it after showing some resistance to increase the offer of course. So after Wood Group taking over AMEC Forster, is it going to be PFC ? Very interesting events indeed.

£8 billion turnover?

Try something of the order of £5 Billion reducing go £3.5 Billion next year.

The question will be: What is the valuation of a company that will make £8 billion turnover and making hefty profits each year ?

600p will be a low initial offer, I'd have thought. With 3 or more parties in the bidding, could go significantly higher than that. Shorting has driven the share price down to a completely unrealistic level. Hopefully now some of those shorts will pay the price for their greed.

All this sector will be on fire as consolidation is taking place.
SP coming all the way from £12 now flirting with £4 is more than 60% loss of its value. Even at £8, PFC will be cheap.

Guys I hope this is true. Wow if 600p is on offer and a bidding war starts between Haliburton, Schlumberger and the other company where could this end up? I will be a happy chappy if I can make 20k+ here.

Of course 400p is crazy - that's why there's so much takeover interest. It's still an absolute bargain at 600p per share.

The fact that it was 400p today is anyway crazy. There is just no interest in the small and mid caps. M&A is the only way to get a boost in the share prices at present. Definitely see 500 tomorrow

Don't hold but would like to see this , if true, soar, shafting some of the bigger shorters-the kind of surprise they hate.

"if there's any substance behind the story"

LOL!! They name the names - Schlumberger, Halliburton and a middle Eastern company.

I sincerely hope they don't accept an offer at that level as it would still leave those who held before the big drop in the merde if they didn't top up when prices are low and then we would find that nothing came of that investigation and our company would have been sold for peanuts unnecessarily. The SFO should be obliged to prosecute and conduct a case within a reasonable time limit or shut up and go away. I must now go and calculate where 600p would leave me, having made a couple of small top ups at low prices.

Very nice - if there's any substance behind the story. See where it opens tomorrow to get a feel for how seriously to take it. Nervous night for the shorters perhaps.

As I suggested earlier, a 50% premium on the current price!! Look out for big action tomorrow!!

"The Daily Telegraph understands that no party is ready to pull the trigger imminently but City chatter has suggested a bid of around 600p per share is being considered by the interested bidders.

That would represent a hefty premium on its current 406.9p share price but a bargain compared to the 946p-per-share valuation it peaked at earlier this year before the SFO investigation."
