05/3/2019 11:41 | Government Petition to Ban shorting of London AIM stocks.
The AIM stock market is where smaller companies list their shares rather than using the prohibitively expensive main London Stock Market. This is an important market for the growth of smaller UK companies.
In challenging times, shorters seek to borrow the company's shares from a holder for a consideration and to buy them at a later date. They immediately sell these shares which, due to the relative illiquid market, sends the price much lower and hence the shorters can buy them at that lower price - pocketing the difference. The only beneficiaries are the shorters and the market makers with the losers being the reputable company and it's bona fide investors.

13/2/2019 15:59 | Pendragon is a sought after stock today, up 5.7% atm.
I can't see any news.
There has already been comment on Anders Hedin's interest (thanks, Jeffian). I have to agree - at some point I would expect Anders Hedin to bid for Pendragon. Fwiw, am holding and hoping. (No advice intended.) | ed 123

30/1/2019 12:41 | dead right Porsche, the only good news is Finn going, its amazing he has made so many blunders over the years yet survived.
No doubt motor industry having a tough time but the poorest run groups, like this dog, will suffer most. | gutterhead
30/1/2019 12:22 | Yes, some Scandinavian outfit stakebuilding (now has over 11%). Possible takeover mentioned in weekend Press.

19/10/2018 17:25 | supply issue is a smoke screen, the market outlook is grim.
The strategy is to double used car volumes......really | gutterhead
19/10/2018 16:44 | Oh, a JLR "RR". For a minute there, I thought you meant the ones from Goodwood! | jeffian
19/10/2018 16:37 | im surprised these are not back in the teens....if ever an outlook was bleak it is the uk’s car and housing markets..Are these really worth anything much??...I was offered a new RR last week with 18k reduction off the screen price, says it all....i love my RR but could see JLR having serious problems... | porsche1945
19/10/2018 08:47 | Company also still buying its shares back and presumably these new car supply issues will ease next year. | danny baker
19/10/2018 08:04 | I'm surprised it's holding up this well. I wonder why. I suppose the rating isn't seen as being excessive. | typo56
19/10/2018 07:41 | thanks, the shareprice has been holding up reasonably well after this profits warning, but the trend over recent years is not great and unlikely to improve anytime soon | mister md
19/10/2018 07:26 | Well done Mister! The very worst of those highly undesirable new cars that Trevor refers to have been sold to car hire companies at presumably rock bottom prices. I know I've been driving some of them! | danny baker
19/10/2018 07:14 | sold at 24.1p, better price than I expected, pretty dire trading update | mister md

29/6/2018 19:54 | gutterhead,
A few hours after getting a call from the salesman I received another call from a member of staff at Evans Halshaw asking me if things were now moving along. I told him that I had been assured that they were. He asked if he could call me after the weekend to ensure my wife had received the documents. I said the that would be fine.
In the event she received the documents yesterday, about 48 hours after the salesman called. We were quite surprised that though we were expecting a brocure of some kind the warranty was a poor quality download on 8 pages, in other words there was no reason it couldn't have been printed out when we collected the car. The salesman had had no real work to do as we'd requested the car be brought from the Midlands to Preston and unless we found anything major we were going to buy it. My wife even agreed to give the guy a five star rating so that he could get his commission.
Anyway, thanks to Pendragon this has now been resolved. It's a pity it had to be dealt with like this but I am grateful Pendragon and wish them all the best. | sandbag
26/6/2018 16:02 | Thnaks for lett8ng me know, sounds like it will get sorted. Good luck sandbag | gutterhead
26/6/2018 15:17 | gutterhead,
I copied the email to Pendragon. Ten minutes ago I got a call from the salesman. I'm pretty sure there has been words said to his boss. I'll let you know when the docs arrive and I will be sure to thank Pendragon. | sandbag
26/6/2018 09:07 | Thanks gutterhead, will see what happens in the next two days. If I get no joy I will do that. Thanks again. | sandbag
