Quite interesting the rise today. I had been hoping for a lower price to top up my holding. I don't agree with the sentiment in this article, I think it is poorly researched.

Lots of good points.
But lets face it FTSE down today (probably down tomorrow as well).
I suspect today and tomorrow therefore might be a good buying opportunity
( I took a few).

And lets also face it, PEARSON have gone down for YEARs (LITERALLY) so the
rally so far is pigeon feed. Schools are going back , exams will be taken again
(not just here but in the much more important US market)
The POUND is low against the DOLLAR (great news for Pearson).

Everything is lined up right for Pearson.

British Bulls still have Pearson as a BUY (On their site: "The bulls are in full control. The negative sentiment that led to the last bearish pattern has evaporated. Besides, the signal is suggesting to STAY LONG. It is best to follow the signal and continue to hold this security. "

There can be few FTSE-100 stocks which attract such widely differing broker views as Pearson. At the start of the week Berenberg downgraded the stock with a 400p price target and now JP Morgan has reiterated its overweight view with a 820p target. Not sure what to make of the £350m social bond. Is this a PR gimmick from a company which has lost touch with shareholder value, or a sign that Pearson is a global education pioneer which will eventually prove the foolishness of its doubters?.

The delay in finding a replacement for chief executive John Fallon, who announced his 'retirement' months ago, is a serious worry. If only Pearson could recruit an internet savvy replacement with a sound track record then it might just be possible to believe in the argument that Pearson really does have an exciting future, rather than a glorious past.

It might be good timing to have sold some or all now. PSON is clearly overbought with RSI near 90. I am waiting for a further update before considering adding.
