Path Investments gets one step closer to breakthrough deal with robust gas reserves report PATH by ValueTheMarkets • February 8, 2018 Path Investments (LSE:PATH) has reported that the German gas field it is planning to make a two-stage maiden investment into could contain reserves of nearly 85Bcf (billion cubic feet) of gas. Path has entered into a conditional farm-in agreement to purchase a 50pc participating interest in the 64.6km2 Alfeld-Elze II licence, which includes the Alfeld-Elze/Hildesheimer Wald gas deposit. This is welcome news for shareholders, who have been waiting nearly a year for Path to deliver a deal. A competent person’s report carried out on the licence found that its two existing wells – H-WD Z2 and A-EZ Z4 – contain 20Bcf of gas. These wells make up Phase One of Path’s investment programme. Phase Two of Path’s investment programme, which may require the drilling of up to three horizontal wells, has an ascribed 2C Contingent Resource of 64Bcf. Path, which raised £1.4m through listing on the Standard List of the London Stock Exchange in March 2017, announced in December that it planned to enter into a joint operating with 5P Energy, the licence’s current owner. To fund the proposed deal, which will see the two firms directly split ownership of the licence, Path suspended trading in its shares last December with a view to re-listing on AIM in Q1 2018 and undertaking a fundraising. The terms of the deal for phase one will see Path pay €5m on completion of the transaction to cover some of 5P’s previous drilling costs for H-WD Z2. It will then make a further €2m payment when A-EZ Z4 reaches commercial production. For Phase Two, Path will pay €10m towards 100pc of the costs of the drilling, logging, testing and completing one or more horizontal wells. It may have to pay up to a further €7.25m in the future if certain revenue and gas milestones are met within the first five years of operations after completion. If the deal completes, Path expects the investment phase of the deal to last until 2021 at a gross capex cost of up to €25m. It then hopes to enter a long-term stable cashflow phase from 2022-2035. The outlook for the licence and deposit looks promising. The area previously produced around 66Bcf of nitrogen-rich gas from nine wells between 1972 and 1995, before it was abandoned following water breakthrough. Four of these wells produced more than 10Bcf of gas. The field was brought back into production in 2015 by 5P Energy through the workover and re-entry of H-WD Z2, which has produced in excess of 2.6Bcf. A-EZ Z4 has been identified as another well workover candidate and, subject to testing, demobilisation and commissioning, is due to start production around mid-2018. If it completes, the transaction will mark the first step in Path’s strategy to buy stakes in assets owned by oil and gas companies which have been squeezed by a sharp decline in commodity prices over recent years. In particular, Path is targeting assets, which possess a lower risk profile than exploration or development assets. It will be interesting to see what price the company raises money at. Given the size of the deal on the table there is every chance this could be at a decent premium to March’s listing price.

I am not getting too excited yet. Yes, the figures do look fine but the trouble is we will have to reinvest to get back any where near our losses from the transition from Niche to Path which lost us 10's of 000's. like most of you who post we have lost considerable sums and i am not quite sure if i am prepared to reinvest on a long term gamble with lets just say only 'potential' revenues. As you all may recall we were promised 'big oil and gas' back in the day by the masterful Irishman JM and whilst he has no involvement i feel hard pressed to consider reinvesting in the Path venture due to being once bitten etc. just my view of course! and i am sure i will be proven wrong and hope we do make some money back in the long term. p11 i hope you are right and it does explode cos i need it to !! watching and waiting. gla

These are enormous figures which certainly don't disappoint. Dependant on the placing price there could be massive gains here short term. Fantastic news that it looks to be happening so quickly as well. This could explode on relisting.gl

"Additional future cash payments could amount to €7.25 million, if certain discrete revenue (€100 million gross; a €3 million payment) and gas production milestones (10Bcf and 40Bcf; €2.25 million and €2 million payments respectively) are successfully met within the first five years of operations following Completion." Potential annual gross revenue for Path of €50,000,000 within 5 years on this deal alone. LNM

BOOM!! :-) RNS PATH "Converting the MMm3 above to Bcf, the CPR has ascribed a 2P Reserve of 20Bcf for the Phase 1 vertical wells H-WD Z2 and A-EZ Z4 (2). The Phase 2 programme, which may require the drilling of up to three horizontal wells, has an ascribed 2C Contingent Resource of 64Bcf."

I see 10p attainable 2018 based on current deal plus news flow on that deal. 15-20p would be on assumption of a second deal or some serious additional good news from current deal.

Lochy: All imho dyor etc, with markets beginning to fall investors will be looking for solid plays with guaranteed consistent revenue flows. Path ticks that box. I'm guessing the placing will be over-subscribed. I'm guessing we will be 4-6p within the first day or two and my target for 2018 is 10p MINIMUM. Really looking for 15p-20p by end 2018. All IMHO, DYOR

Hearing good things about Z4 and expecting official update this month with that well. Third well to be fast tracked on money raised and feedback is the deal is being very well received. I'm also hearing 4 more deals being worked on for later this year so 10p+ could well be on the radar curm if the next 4 weeks go to plan. I'd be happy with that. DYOR LNM
