I hear the same moans from other bbs where there are 'stale bulls.' These are often people who are unfortunate enough to have got in at the height of any sector, just as it's about to go out of favour...easily done. Sentiment is at a high and people get dragged into euphoria. It is difficult just now because geo-political concerns weigh heavy and different countries are variously affected and that complicates the issue. I am not going to say this is all wonderful, I understand it must be difficult if somebody has been here years, but again it is better than if a sector is about to plunge. I am not sure if we will continue to have weakness in Gold or not short-term or how things will pan out in individual companies but I have collected a few shares in several gold companies to spread the risk. Thank you for your kind words alan@bj.

The Peso is under the IMF control so you are quite right to point out that the gold is sold for US$ but is then converted to depreciated local currency. Remember that the costs in production and running the business are paid in the local currency so in a way there is a gain but perhaps the management should give shareholders an update..........

Anyone have a view on the currency issue? Presumably the mined gold is sold for $US? Then what? Conversion into pesos would seem a very bad idea. I'm away at the moment and can't check the financial info.

I don't mind positive or negative posts. And I'm all for constructive balanced comments. All the point I was making was that 30 odd pages about how this is reliant on PoG's performance and market sentiment towards 'goldies' isn't constructive. Not after so many years. It's boring. If not misleading & untrue imho. I've posted before that without Miguens' own investment (and that of his mate in the Concert Party) this Company would have been dead in the water yonks ago. A cash burn of £300 million over 15 years for the return that it's provided to date is almost unheard of. LTHs have much to thank Miguens for. Personally I prefer critical analysis type posts than ramping. But that's just me I guess.

I wonder what the true story is...............new management =Yes then a tidy up of assets = Yes BUT on top of all this a terrible gold price and a terrible currency.....................need to think this all out.

I’m sure we are all very frustrated with the share price but whatever is posted on here - positive or negative - won’t make the slightest difference to it. Do keep up the positive posts Hazel, I’d much rather read them than pessimistic ones. As far as Miguel’s goes, I’ve no idea if he only turns up for board meetings but he’s certainly always put his money in when required.

And 'with respect' you are the opposite side of the coin. Of course I am going to reply to that. The reason I like them is because they have done very well for me in the past. Whilst history might not repeat itself,at some point Gold as a metal will be worth more. That is likely to help gold stocks prices. It is often difficult to gauge when that will be and I personally would rather be too early than chasing higher prices. I am not encouraging people to react one way or another I am just explaining my stance. I think it's a good thing if we have a balance here...an optimist and an eeyore!

The important thing is not to put loads in. When things become clearer then it's easier. IMO

I only wish I'd listened to my own concerns in May. I thought we'd see a drift down once the placement took place. And because of the placement we have a lot further down to go. But I've let my heart rule my head again.

As someone put on here the BOD wanted to decrease volatility with the consolidation.....since then the price has just gone straight down...no swings up to loose nearly half its value. Good job BOD

Something smells here. MMs appear to be marking down on less than £100 traded. Makes you very suspicious regarding the pattern of what's going on here over past few months. Maybe being manipulated down to facilitate a pending chunky buy order by existing large shareholder to help increase % holding in Company in one hit? Taking the Company Private has always been a concern of mine given the Concert Party. Not saying it'll happen. Just a concern.

The reasons they gave in the prospectus were 1) improve the marketability of the Company's ordinary shares by creating a higher trading price to restrict large percentage movements resulting in volatility and 2) without doing the consolidation they might "not be able to raise funds as opportunities present themselves". Just a quick glance at the trades over the past month they SEEM to be a persistent steady flow of low volume, low value sell trades resulting in 50% plus reduction. If that's not volatility then I don't know what is!!!! You do wonder sometimes with this mob who they get professional back-up advice from. It's certainly not with investor PR in mind.

Was that the consolidation which was supposed to make the shares more attractive to institutional investors?

Back to 1p (in old money) to sell. That's about a 50% drop just since 100:1 consolidation. Seems to be nothing but regular daily PI type sells of no real volume or value. No buyers of the stock to speak of for yonks. Crazy situation given Market Cap and the revenues and the potential. House Broker needs a good kicking. This time last month they said they were carrying out a re-evaluation, with production guidance being reviewed for 2018. They stated they would inform the Market when complete. Well how long does that take? We are now into H2 of 2018. Can only assume that exercise and/or the new crushing circuit hasn't been that successful otherwise there'd have been a positive or bullish RNS. Been the same old, same old for about a decade now. Guess a leopard never changes its spots.
