31/12/2014 19:28 | Well it's certainly rebounded. I still think the business will be looking good in a couple of year's time, particularly if their defined benefit product is firing on all cylinders by then. We are close to the bottom of the market as the start of the new tax year approaches in 3 month's time. The market is forward looking and so we are therefore close to underlying trading improving or at least becoming more stable. | topvest
31/12/2014 16:30 | Is someone sniffing around. Noticed lately that there has been a buyer who has been paying well above the day's closing price. | rathkum
08/12/2014 08:03 | Great news. I suspect they have a few of these up their sleeve for the next 12 months. This sort of business is the way forward. | topvest
08/12/2014 07:34 | Wow - £200m plus bulk annuity - not bad for a 'dead' business.... | scrapheap
27/11/2014 17:39 | Osborne offers branch to annuity industry | scrapheap
26/11/2014 20:47 | Yes, thanks. Just had a look. Think this company is well placed to succeed in a new environment. Business will take a while to pick up. In the meantime, the valuation is supported by the existing book. | topvest
26/11/2014 16:05 | Investor day has gone ok then... presentation is on their website, 76 pages long but worth a read | scrapheap
31/10/2014 16:54 | Decent rise from the mid October low of 85p. Perhaps the downside was way overdone or is it something else. | rathkum
27/10/2014 08:29 | I've not worked it out but circa 110p I think. I'd forgotten this FCA thing was o/s - still good news that it's gone away without any £ impact too... all helps if we are hoping all the negative stuff has been priced in and if we're in to the recovery phase... | scrapheap
25/10/2014 10:17 | As with JRG, I'm hoping we've hit bottom now and the recovery is starting. Only 5 more months of trading until the 'new' world and the market can breathe again... stockmarkets are supposed to discount the future not the present and the closer we get to April, the more they should be anticipating a recovery in trading from this annus horriblis for annuity providers | scrapheap
16/10/2014 19:44 | Rubbish. Annuities are still the best way forward for many individuals. Their business will adapt over time to market changes. In the meantime the embedded value in the existing portfolio covers the share price. | topvest
16/10/2014 15:19 | This has no future. Avoid! | alyo
16/10/2014 08:23 | In for a penny in for a pound, just lumped in some more to lower my average price... | scrapheap
16/10/2014 07:46 | Yes, a big slow down. Confident that things will turn around (maybe slowly at first) in 2015 and beyond. In the meantime, they have the run-off business anyway supporting the share price. | topvest
16/10/2014 07:36 | Well done PA for getting the trading update out so quickly, poor numbers but that's not unexpected - the market will increasingly 'pause' now with those taking tax free cash predominantly deferring the decision on the rest until April 2015 and beyond to see what products are on the table then. I remain certain that lifetime annuities, now with the attractive early death benefits (tax wise) of value protection will be a popular option then. | scrapheap
14/10/2014 13:18 | JRG announced a good deal today. If PA. were also in the running for it could that be why they were marked down first thing? | ochs
14/10/2014 08:47 | the market is an ass. | scrapheap
07/10/2014 10:46 | This is very good news if confirmed - making the FSCS now cover annuities 100% not 90% as now... Will reassure clients and advisers in using the JRGs and PA.s knowing the FSCS stands fully behind them should the worst happen.... | scrapheap
06/10/2014 15:44 | Think this will take a time to come back, but starting to look good value as a run-off business. | topvest
06/10/2014 14:15 | I bought more JRG last week, not put more in to PA. as I view this one as higher risk. | scrapheap
06/10/2014 14:13 | Deutsche Bank: Market has 'completely misunderstood' pension death tax changes | scrapheap
06/10/2014 13:25 | I was holding JRG and PA. but decided to switch out of PA. last week and only hold JRG going forward. Got out at 105p and into JRG at 123.7p. I prefer JRG as I get the feeling management are more on the ball and it also seems to have higher regular trading volumes on the market. Would you average down your PA. holding at current price or could there be further to fall? | ochs
06/10/2014 08:17 | noticable that Deutsche upgrade JRG today to a buy from hold but tumbleweed for PA..... not so good! analysts for JRG now uniformly buy whilst most on pa are neutral - I suppose at least that leaves room for a lot of upgrades perhaps when things settle down post April??? mind you it makes the period before then more worrying if this drift in price continues | scrapheap |
