Well you have got to hand it to the private equity boys....as a rule, when they are selling you should not be buying!

The thinking is that this may encourage even less people to want to buy an annuity. As before though there should still be a market for a secure income; it's just a question of how big that market will be. I can still see PA. and JRG merging at some stage.

Both JRG and PA. marked down heavily today....was there more bad news in the pensions world that I missed?

Seems like there is an largish overhang so unless that is cleared the price will remain depressed

grim - there is a risk if the price and market cap falls too low that advisers (incl me) won't be confident in placing business with them for precisely that reason... a vicious cycle.

Hope i'm wrong...

I think there will be a quiet period as we wait for the April 'new world' which means the next 6 month will be tough BUT once we hit April, I remain v confident as many clients are waiting to see what the new options are come April but may well stick with an income for life anyway in many cases, for at least some of their pots

Seems we are reaching new lows and JRG have been slipping too. JRG are due to report on Thursday this week - so it could make interesting reading for both shares.

Groves (pictured) said he did not believe the company’s share
price reflected its opportunities and backed it to expand in the US
and innovate in reaction to the Budget changes.

‘At the moment, I do not believe that the share price
accurately reflects the opportunities ahead of the company
therefore, I took this opportunity to “put my money where my
mouth is” and purchase additional shares at the current
valuation,’ he said.

‘I have huge confidence in Partnership – its potential
growth and its ability to adapt in a changing environment to
deliver both its existing annuities and other innovative solutions
to prospective customers here and in the USA.’

Friday's IC had a very positive write up with a buy recommendation.
Is this the bottom? Time will tell.

I am also tempted at current price... he invested about 117k, so a
decent amount of £s.

Went back to all time lows today (116p) - what do people think will happen to the share price over the next 3/4 months?

Yes - happy to hold. This will be a bad year, but 2015 should be brighter from Q2 onwards. Looks like a nominal 1p dividend this year to me.

One of the brokers has retained hold but lowered price target to 125p...

Sit and wait basically and look for recovery post April 2015.

As we were. Just waiting for the cost cutting and new markets/environment to further develop and off we go.Can't see a sell off really as nothing had changed or unexpected. There was actually some positive undertones in there too.

I can see this one retreating back to 120p level. No forward visibility. See if I can bail out in the 130p level if I am lucky.

erm not much the wiser ... further dislocation in run up to April 2015 seems inevitable, they aren't sure but a 0.5p dividend just to show some faith...

will be waiting for the analyst research updates I think.
