25/1/2007 17:01 | Parkwood Leisure to Manage Kettering Borough Council Leisure Facilities Press Release - 19th January 2007 The Executive has chosen to select Parkwood Leisure to manage its leisure services. The facilities included in the contract which will run for 10 years are the Kettering Swimming Pool, The Desborough Leisure Centre, the Cornmarket Hall and the Pitch and Track. Parkwood Leisure was formed in 1995 and is now one of the largest companies providing leisure management services in the country. The Council went through a robust and open procurement process before coming to this decision and received specialist advice from Strategic Leisure during the process. Councillor Alison Wiley (Portfolio holder for Leisure and Community) says: "A good service has been provided by Kettering Community Leisure over the last ten years but the tender from Parkwood was more innovative and beneficial to the Council. Current staff will transfer over to the new contractor and these are discussions that KCCL will need to have with Parkwood Leisure. We now look forward to working with our new contractor." Parkwood Leisure's Business Development Manager, Kirsty Rose has stated: "Parkwood Leisure is delighted to have been selected for the management of Kettering's Leisure facilities. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Kettering Borough Council, over the next ten years, to deliver quality leisure services for the benefit of the whole community." The new arrangements should be in place for 1st April 2007 and the decision will be confirmed at the end of next week so that work can start to make sure there is a smooth handover for the benefit of staff and customers. | poyntona

14/1/2007 20:03 | Profiting, enjoy highlighting shares with potential to make peeps money even if i'm not the original brains behind it! | lex1000
14/1/2007 20:02 | Tuftymatt, find do best in company and shares I know.Combined with share analysis highlighted by Fingersxxd so much the better. He has done so with MER & PKW.Do not hold MER but believe both good medium-long term investments.I don't have past or as in depth knowledge of ARG & WGB but put a few pennies in ARG,not that i'm recommending either.CCT & PKW no brainers from 100p.Luck of the draw as to exactly when share price goes ballistic, however,ex Do not think that you can go too far wrong investing in growth & divi paying companies and companies shares you "know".Therefore not a secret formula or mrmidas more common sense.Fingersxxd posts on his "£1" thread and "FAR6". kind regards lex | lex1000
13/1/2007 00:46 | Lex thanks for highlighting these.Bought on directors buying and now showing fine profit.Really appreciated and still more to go.Initial target was max £2 but given update the upside could be substantially more. I think these will continue to increase ahead of results and as seems the norm these days will fall back after publication. | profiting
