serratia- Also be aware of sub contract/ strategy change. I believe in 2015 the strategy was to use a certain amount (above the then capacity)of sub-contract. It seems that led to some lost late work so the strategy changed last year to reduce reliance on Sub C. and increase own internal capacity above the Revenue targets, and then pressure the Sales Team, It wouldn't surprise me if PEL's current capacity is somewhat above the 2017 Rev estimate of circa £15m, closer to (my) hopeful 2018 target, say £17m?

note- Internal capacity involves a 'hopeful' perfect mix of work, which rarely materialises so PEL will no doubt always require some specialist sub contract requirement.

PJ Thanks so as the sales increase they take on more staff or contractors. I have op ex at 19.3% in 2015 and 24.1% in H1 2016 excluding exceptionals.

Correct. As well I recall Dubai alone was at least £7m 2016 Revs,What particularly about the NED/Merlin made you have a look serratia?

serratia- Its not my strong point but after communicating with other Investors the answer is that the Op Ex % is the key metric. I also believe projects such as Dubai Park are fixed price, so there is a circa 20% gain in value against the £. UK Revs are falling as more Global work is undertaken such as in the UAE.

New reader here.

I came to this company to have a look after seeing the Merlin appointment. This is a good board, I've only had to filter two avatars !
I've read all the posts and started my analysis/valuation. I focus on cash generation in share price valuations as there is far less opportunity to project the figures in a favourable light. When I ran my spread sheet on the half year figures it gave me a valuation of 4.2p/share. I must say it's not always that accurate but it gives me a reason to look deeper.
The tricky part is the forward forecast. I've seen the sales projection but there's one point I don't have a feel for and someone closer to the company might have a view.
At the half year the op ex was £1333k or 24.1% of sales. So for H2 should I just double H1 or maintain the percentage sales figure which will of course increase the op ex due to the increasing sales? It makes quite a difference to my forward forecast.

hehe, bud made money out of us I trust on PEL? Doubled I trust?

MIDW going bonkers, so you may have made money on that one as well and a less speculative one IMO given its size. Nice yield as well.

not sure if I am pinky or perky...

cheers and DYOR / GLA

Don't think ppl quite get your humor PJ. LOL
There is some serious experience in David Bridgford that no doubt PEL will be tapping in to. I wonder the chances of him taking a stake here?
