ali47 - the easiest and best way to access this is on Pantheon's website. You can sign up here for alerts when they issue an RNS or any news item:hxxps://www.piplc.com/investor-relations/investor-contacts/

ali47 - To answer your question - yes, I have read the article, and posted the link because I thought others would find it interesting. It supports and adds to my previous research on PIN.

I hold PIN as part of the growth section of my portfolio. It is one of five PE shares I hold - PIN, OCI, HVPE, ICP, HGT - and PIN is my second largest holding of these. I am happy to hold all of these PE shares as a group, and I look upon them as long term, buy-and-hold investments. From my perspective, they offer a high degree of diversification and have long track records of outperforming leading indices. They have all performed fairly well over the last year - though HVPE is a bit of a laggard.

So, PIN fits nicely into my portfolio, but it may not suit other investors with different perspectives.

Thank you Cousin for confirming, and indeed for taking the time to help fellow investors by explaining to TFG (The amount of time I have spent explaining interactive investor bugs to them - I have had to threaten to write to the regulators given some of the major issues).

Also yes I have done the share count thing in the past, and sort of forgot this morning. However, it is obviously an estimate, probably plus or minus 5-10%, given varied prices paid.

Good to know there should be a chunk left.

I reckon based on real time NAV (ie moving valuations from end June to now, plus adjusting for weaker USD, with c. 63% of portfolio effectively USD holdings, I think the discount remains just shy of 40%.
Re. comps with the other names I should try to post in the PE thread.

Annual Financial Report

Stand out is
PIP is committing up to £200m to invest in its own portfolio by acquiring its own shares during the financial year to 31 May 2024.

Or in other words, 10x what they spent on buy-backs in the trading year that ended in May 2023.

"By committing up to £200m to buy back PIP's shares, on behalf of shareholders we will capture the exceptional value offered by the Company's high quality portfolio. Investors in PIP will also benefit from our intention to dedicate a proportion of future net cash flow to share buybacks while still making new investments with many of the best PE managers in the world. We hope that shareholders will welcome and support the exciting initiatives which the Board is now taking to seize the investment opportunity before us."

Skyship, I really do not want to get into a ding-dong here and I most likely will step away from this topic after this post - and I repeat "different folks, different strokes" - but PEY? Really?

I confess I am only invested in three PE trusts and had never heard of PEY until your post just now. Please forgive me if I have the wrong end of the stick, but are you referring to Princess Private Equity? I think the statement in the RNS accompanying the suspension......... "This suspension has been deemed necessary in light principally of the significant reduction in the Company's liquidity due to the strengthening of the US Dollar against the Euro, which led to outflows of more than EUR 60 million year-to-date to settle currency hedging contracts. In addition, challenging debt markets are currently limiting the facilitation of asset sales across the industry.".....is the reason for the share price fall not the income investors ditching it???

At offer price currently, PIN 48.7% discount. Dividend paying ICGT 45.1% discount.
I know, I know, small sample size, different firms etc.....but PE trusts have been beaten up this year - I am hopeful they will come through it. I think that the idea that PIN announce a dividend and income investors will narrow the discount meaningfully is unlikely.

Dividends are a pain for non-income institutions and unless PIN institutes a SCRIP (which is an administrative nightmare) they're a pain for me as I incur frictional costs on the re-investment. Clearly not the case for all investors.
