31/5/2009 13:58 | on CR thread today Ambrian head of mining research Brock Salier attributes the team's success to a strategy of 'assets first, everything else second'. He claims to have pinpointed Kalahari Minerals (KAH:AIM) and Central African Mining & Exploration (CFM:AIM) a long time before the market started pricing up the stocks. 'We liked the geology,' he explains, having since seen Kalahari and CAMEC's share prices more than double since his current 'buy' recommendations. Nick Mellor is doing well with his 'speculative buy' on Pangea Diamondfields (PDF:AIM), having upgraded the stock following its heavily-discounted placing in January when it became a penny share. The stock has since more than doubled on a relief rally over its finances and diamond prices start to recover. Salier has his eye on nickel laterite miners as the next hot investment. He points towards Toledo (TMC), and Rusina (RMLA) which are looking at European Nickel's processing technology to help to facilitate low cost operations. (DC) | andrbea

18/5/2009 13:57 | Cash into the coffers. Sale of DRC and CAR Diamonds (Pangea Diamond) TIDMPDF RNS Number : 4273S Pangea DiamondFields PLC 18 May 2009 ? Pangea DiamondFields plc ('Pangea' or the 'Company') Sale of DRC and CAR Diamonds Pangea DiamondFields plc (AIM: PDF), the diamond producer and exploration company, announces the recent sale by tender of diamonds from its Longatshimo River and Tshikapa River projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo ("DRC") projects, as well as its Dimbi project in the Central African Republic ("CAR"). The sale of approximately 5,710 carats which took place last week in Antwerp raised gross proceeds of US$ 670,000 with the average sale prices achieved being as follows: * DRC - 3,710 carats @ US$117 per carat * CAR - 2,000 carats @ US$116 per carat Commenting on the sale, Chief Executive Brett Thompson said: "This sale, in addition to the US$0.23 million raised from the sale of diamonds from the Bakerville project announced on 11 May 2009, further fortifies our cash position and provides additional support for the Company to continue pursuing the development of our current key projects, Cassanguidi in Angola and Bakerville in South Africa. The sale prices achieved represent a discount of approximately 30 - 35% to the long term target prices we would expect to achieve in a normal market for the DRC and CAR projects but were considerably better than forecast sale prices at this time of 50% below our long term targets." | the mullah

15/4/2009 12:17 | I like PDF's Bakerville project: The Bakerville operation had an estimated inferred resource of 2,17-million m3, at an average grade of 3,22 ct/100 m3. However, a recent independent review in December updated the resource base for the Patsema area of the project to an inferred resource of 3,59-million m3, at an average grade of 3,42 ct/100 m3. "Management expects to be able to continue to increase the resource base, given that the current resource relates to only 10% of the total area under permit. In addition, applications for exploration permits over a further two adjacent farms have been granted, while two more applications are presently in the assessment phase." PDF noted that a feasibility study to determine the most efficient and cost effective methodology to fully develop the Bakerville project to commercial scale, has been ongoing for some time, with results expected by the end of June this year. "Subject to the results of this study, the successful conversion of existing permits to a mining right, and the availability of funding, the company anticipates a decision to progress to a full-scale commercial operation being made in the second half of 2009 | andrbea
15/4/2009 12:15 | yes, why not? cape (another diamond stock) is up 30% today changing sentiment... Diamond prices to stabilize in 2009: IDEX forecast 2009-04-04 eg Based on March data, polished diamond prices are no longer in a free fall, according to the IDEX Online Global Diamond Price Index. After peaking last summer, polished diamond prices declined sharply beginning in October 2008, a trend that continued through January. However, while diamond prices softened during the last week of March a temporary anomaly, in our opinion they have stabilized from prior months' weakness. | andrbea
