I'm still waiting, no news, no offers so nothing to discuss really.

Sorry if I've interrupted anyone's sleep, Happy New Year.

40p each for mine. Or 36p if before end of January.

That is still cheap, in my opinion.

Ha yes. Here's to no more nasty suprises! Was looking at freeing up some cash by selling some of my PAN holdings(being as the share price hasn't really moved over the last couple of months) - chart telling me not to

Its been ready to move up for years and every time we have a nasty surprise thrown at us.

I'm still hopeful we are only a whisker away from realising a major rerating but 2014 will be my last year of patience with this - its my New Years resolution.

Just tried some dummy buys and sells.

Max BUY is 25,000 shares. 20.34p
They'll let me sell 200,000 shares for 19.75p, rising to 19.99p for smaller size.

If the market makers won't let you buy more than 25,000 shares from them but will take 200,000 from you and pay full price - what does that say to you?

It's not the will that's lacking re Rosbunker. It's the sheer difficulty of the task.

Lovely looking chart with a long series of higher lows.

Let's hope Belphar's actions have spurred the Board on even more re a resolution of Rosbunker etc.

Belphar should come back with a better bid, when they are allowed to do so. They tried at 22p, but misread private investor sentiment. What if they'd offered 28p for example? That Price would still have given them PAN's assets at a significant discount.

All sounds very interesting indeed - as always, thanks for sharing.

WRT Director buys - I actually agree with your logic however logic and the markets are two different things. Even the smallest of Director buys has, in the past, perked up the share price here. I, however, in this instance DO NOT want to see a Director buy right now for the very reason you mention - it would indicate that there's not an imminent bit of big/good news in the pipeline.

I'd like to think that progress was being made now with Belphar now INSIDE the tent p*ssing outwards. I don't imagine his little black book is empty given his other business interests. I am holding onto the belief that 'no news is good news' whilst appreciating others may be becoming impatient. PAN is not a share for the impatient!

I did a few dummy buys and sells for size around 2pm today to gauge MM sentiment as I don't believe Level 2 despite paying for the service and using it as a backup indicator (probably a waste of £20 I could better spend on beer?).

Anyway... results of my survey are as follows: -

Max buy was 91,000 shares at 19.99p (dropping to 19.4p if you only wanted 10k)
Max sell was 67,000 shares at 19.00 (price same down to 10k)

This is through Barclays Stockbrokers. I am aware that quotes have different in the past, especially via Selftrade and TDW.

The 91k and 67k limits (found by trial and error) are greater size than they had recently wanted to play with so maybe the MMs are waking up all of a sudden? The (shortlived) mini shake the other day got my attention. PAN is no stranger to MM games.

I'm not buying/selling or trading any PAN shares this side of May next year (unless RB is settled sooner in which case I shall consider my position) so you can imagine the panic earlier when I nearly accidentally bought 91,000 shares whilst stabbing different quantities into the screen trying to find the number that took me 'negotiated'.

That was nearly an interesting and £18,000 lunchbreak!

P.S. What do Rosneft want with a car park business? Bizarre....

Apparently, Rosneft want to buy NCSP and have stated that they are willing to buy the Russian governments stake which is to be sold off shortly.

As everyone is no doubt aware NCSP owns the Container port which is adjacent to Rosbunker, NCSP is planning expansion of the Baliysk terminal so maybe Rosneft could do us all a favour and expand into Rosbunker.

THe Kaliningrad government has still not announced the new major investor for the deepwater port or its location but Rosneft where rumoured to be interested.

Belphar need to wait and my understanding is that the company is effectively in a closed period prior to publishing result and when insiders are in posession of of price sensitive news that they could profit from if they traded.

So I hope they are in that situation, in truth I don't particularly like director buys as it is usually recieved badly, as desparation, opportunism or greed and signals that nothing of real consequence is going on.

Would anyone know:
1)Can Belphar rebid again or it has to wait for at least 6 months before making another bid.
2)Is the company in a closed period?

Management must know the eyes of investors will be upon them over the coming months, they were given support by many investors lets not forget that and providing there is some progress IMO that will continue, who knows even Belphar may support them if Rosbunker is sold at a profit.

The sale of Rosbunker would change everything.

All is still to play for and worst case scenario is most likely 22p/share in a year or so.

Although the results of the general meeting represents a victory for the management in staving off the barbarians at the door, it is nevertheless a disturbing result.
Belphar own 29.9% of the shares namely 31791207 shares to which must be added Hurley's shares whose support they obtained who represent 5032863 shares.
In favour of the second resolution there were 53081848 shares which means that there were institutions representing 16257765 shares siding with Belphar.
The task of the management now is to convince its shareholders that the value of the company is a lot more than it is now and this value will be delivered in the next 18 months

It was a win, win for Belphar really, unless of course the share price now soars.
........................................................................

Back to business then.

Dan-Balt are apparently very pleased with their new pumps and they're working well, revenues now mounting up at the bank I expect, who needs 22p/share:

"Dan-Balt A/S - Pan European Terminals PLC

DESMI NSL centrifugal pumps for heavy fuel oil transfer at the Dan-Balt A/S terminal in Aaberaa, Denmark.

Pan European Terminals PLC with locations in Aabenraa, Denmark, has 160,000 m3 of storage strategically located close to Pan European's existing ports but also close to Amsterdam / Rotterdam / Antwerp (ARA), the Kiel Canal and Gasoil's distribution business.

General Manager Hardy Olsen requested pumps for the transfer of heavy fuel oil and the technical requirements for the future pumps were:
•1000 m3/h at 7.5 bar
•0.990 kg/l
•400 cSt – 60oC

DESMI's solution was three DESMI NSL 200-415 inline centrifugal pumps with 200 kW 4-pole motors incl. frequency converters for more flexibility.

Dan-Balt A/S is very satisfied with the solution. The pumps are running perfectly and live up to the expectations.

Hardy Olsen says: "DESMI is a very competent pump partner. DESMI has a lot of knowledge about pumps for this kind of application and we had good support in the planning and installation of the pumps. All pumps were delivered on time, have a low noise level and are running well".
