That really is the most appallingly drafted announcement. What on earth is the messgae they are trying to deliver. Sometimes you need a bit of PR to get the message across. The material information seems to be that they have reversed the previous impairment, but should anyone care about currency effects caused by changing their reporting currency?

Re fake gold bars

There are already gadgets that test gold bars using ultrasonic waves.

Basically if the waves can not pass through the bar and are reflected back to the source then its fake or has impurities but if the waves pass through the bar then its pure gold.
