still got a monthly sharebuilder in paddy - am i being simplistic by expecting a good year for the bookies with all the sporting events coming up? may already be priced in though...

Good company, with fast growth, but not that cheap. I hold but wouldn't buy them anew at this price.

This moves without news or comments on here. Any thoughts on Paddy Power ?

yes would agree there - pap seems reasonably valued in comparison to its peers but thats not to say its peers are not overvalued?

The results look ok to me - pretty much what was expected.

William Hill sure is more than big enough to poach PAP.
And at the current SP, Paddy Power is vulnerable to predators.

Surely, William Hill will poach local experts rather than invest in a country with no local knowledge or support?

wouldn't be worried about william hill too much. Can't see them knowing the irish market well enough. paddy power will offer better choice on irish sports and knows what punters want to bet on. Now Boylesports is a different proposition Irish very professional growing and operating both sides of the border which gives them the catchment of northern punters on a sunday given the law in Northern Ireland forbiding bettings shops opening on a Sunday. Don't hold but think Paddy power will come back.

Writing was on the wall when William Hill took on PAP on their own door step. I am glad I sold out at EUR 14.11 despite hold advice and comments in 'Investing for Growth".

Panic selling will make the share price fall further. Then PAP could once again make bargain. Buying right now is like the proverbial "catching a falling knive". Wait for a firm bounce and upward trend for a few weeks.

Hermes$,

They said it is going up immediately and that I should make a euro in a day or two. Well, I have made 50 cents already and I haven't even had a bath today yet.

I can only see one 10.05 buy today and that was for only 5000 shares.

Is that your trade?

On what grounds an overreaction?

They've just announced that they expect to miss consensus profit forecasts by 19%.

Dresdner are reviewing their recommendation, others to follow surely.

Gentlemen,

Today's decline looks to be an overreaction. I have bought at E10.05.
