... just to add on how significant this is from that same article :-
"For Arris, the acquisition of the Ruckus assets in particular is critical to the company's plan for future growth. The Ruckus portfolio opens up new doors for Arris outside of the cable market in both the wireless industry and in the previously untapped enterprise sector."

Thanks mbhesms, I missed that Mari Silbey article. I still think it is the CFIUS workload and them needing to protect their anatomies from trumping. If B/B fails then Brocade may be on a path to breakup anyway and like Extreme we may see Arris hive off their target Ruckus in any event.

NB: This news story is dated 4 October 2017

Headline: Is Trouble Brewing for Brocade, Broadcom?

Link:

Quote: In June, Brocade Communications Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: BRCD) agreed to sell off some of its government contracts to Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) , a move that was presumably designed to assuage CFIUS concerns about foreign control of an American company. (Broadcom Corp. (Nasdaq: BRCM) is incorporated in Singapore.) However, it now appears that that decision may not have been enough to put regulators' minds at ease.

Commentary: The respected Mari Silbey adds a little (the HDS deal) to the tenebrous tea leaves.

Today is the day when CFIUS declares outcome of Broadcom buying Brocade and so if Arris buys Ruckus. The market seems to be placing its bets. Will it be a case of sell on the news or buy into the incremental eps I wonder.

Aerial Landscapes by Henry Do

Three years ago, a GoPro photograph of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, went viral and changed the course of Henry Do‘s life. Since then, the Las Vegas-based photographer has taken to the skies all over the world. Do bought his first drone back in 2015. He got his second drone a week later. Last fall, he told Full Drone that his favorite photograph was one he’d taken on the coast of Oahu, Hawaii. This post gathers together a number of his incredible images including Yellowstone National Park, Monument Valley and the Hawaii’s amazing landscapes.
