Designed by the “new media” studio Apostrophy’s, the imagination light garden, as one of the main highlights at the International Horticultural Exposition, utilized two million light bulbs to create the five sections of the spectacular garden. It is located in Thailand. There are five sections

bloom field – consists of several lotus light sculptures that create a welcoming atmosphere at the entrance,
star marine – features a flock of butterflies which plume in correspondence to the music within a field of light,
anodard lake – named after a buddhist mythology, features a collection of fish light sculptures which ‘jump’ to the music against a backdrop of a peaceful lake,
back-light garden – composed of a hundred fluorescent-painted flowers that glow during the night,
twilight field – situated at the exit by a Buddhist statue pavilion and consists of a lane created by two lines of local rattan flower lamps

The Department of Miniature Marvels just found its newest member: artist and photographer Vatsal Kataria, who recreates locations he visits in his dreams as miniature models and then takes beautifully lit, atmospheric photos that recreate scenes from his dreams.

“I created miniature versions of the places I saw in my dreams. It took me about two months to create all of them. I saw these places in my dreams and it was a bit challenging to turn my imagination into reality but the whole process was fun and awesome.”

Snail-shaped grass mounds, twisting DNA helix sculptures and undulating waves of rhododendrons make up The Garden of Cosmic Speculation, a thirty-acre garden designed by architecture theorist Charles Jencks and his late wife, Maggie Keswick.

Located at their private residence, Portrack House, near Dumfries, Scotland, the garden’s design is guided by the fundamentals of modern physics and, according to Jencks, brings out the basic elements that underlie the cosmos. From 1989 until Keswick’s death in 1995, Jencks and his wife, an expert on Chinese gardens, met with horticulturists and scientists in order to design a landscape that would bridge the worlds of art, nature and science.

Perhaps viewed as an unconventional approach to landscaping, the garden features a dizzying display of geometric fractals that all illuminate - or at least are inspired by - concepts of black holes, string theory, and the “Big Bang.” The garden features five major areas connected by a number of man-made lakes, bridges and other architectural works, including large white staircases and terraces that zigzag down a green hillside, representing the story of the creation of the universe.

Bounce Below is an underground trampoline park situated in an abandoned mine in Llechwedd Slate Caverns. Giant net trampolines are suspended above the cave floor with neon lights brightening up the space. Each level of the park is connected by slides that are as tall as two double-decker buses.
