03/8/2017 15:40 | I thought the results were good.. I was tempted to sell some more but will wait for now and hope to get $30-$32... | sikhthetech
03/8/2017 15:22 | Just for once I've decided to take advantage of a spike and have sold some. Although the tone of the results was upbeat the message wasn't really anything more than a confirmation of full-year guidance in my opinion, with perhaps a bit of hope of beating if they get the type of end-year surge that they often do (but then that often means the guidance for the 1Q that follows is disappointing). So I suspect first thing there was some short-closing from investors who had been expecting a read-through of the Technicolor troubles. | 1gw
03/8/2017 14:42 | My target is still $34, and then I might take another cruise next year!! | alexmcdonald
03/8/2017 14:36 | Of course $30 at £1=$1.31 isn't quite the same as $30 at £1=$1.20 to UK investors, but nice to see the number again, however briefly it may last now I've gone and commented on it. | 1gw

03/8/2017 08:06 | Copyright of Seeking Alpha - I will be checking reproduction word count shortly so this post may be reduced or deleted later today. Refer above for full transcript. Snippets :- (Edit - abridged version to com-ly with copyright word count) We had a very solid second quarter in the business, as momentum increased as expected from the slow start in the first quarter. Sales were just above the midpoint of our guidance with non-GAAP revenue of $1.667 billion. And non-GAAP EPS was very strong, above the high end of our guidance at $0.63 per share ... our customers continue to add capacity to keep up with the 40% to 50% annual growth in bandwidth usage. ... We have a great balance sheet... Our international business continued to grow in the second quarter, up 9% year-over-year and up 6% compared to the first quarter with strong sales in the Asia Pacific region, in particular in Australia and Japan, and in Europe. … Broadcom's acquisition of Brocade. We similarly refiled our application last week. We're now projecting both deals to close in early Q4 timeframe. ... Looking a little further ahead, I believe demand for our products will remain solid in 2018, as investment to expand Internet capacity and deliver services ... will continue unabated. … And I'm very pleased with the growth in our international business and expect that to continue in 2018. ... cash from operating activities was very strong in Q2 at $244 million ... In the second quarter, we repurchased 1.7 million shares for a total of $44 million. ... on track to our annual guidance, and of course these numbers exclude our pending Ruckus acquisition ... Yeah, so, certainly, we continue to see memory costs considerably higher ... we think it's extending into 2018 … Of course, as we go through negotiations with customers ... So clearly, you've seen the profitability in the business lower this year than last year, and that's by far the biggest reason. ... So indeed, we did some share repurchases and obviously we're looking at the value of stock and then what we can buy back on as well. ... I think we're looking at a variety of options that might scale the company. ... | andyble

02/8/2017 23:23 | Headline:How Is ARRIS International plc’s (ARRS) Financial Condition? Link: Quote: Despite a debt-to-equity ratio of greater than 40%, ARRIS International appears to be in sound financial shape when we compare its earnings and current assets against interest payments and total debt, respectively. It can remain strong through healthy operating cash flow – I like a figure of at least 20% of the total debt. Commentary: A lot of the links I get through Google news and Google alerts read like they are written by, or assisted by robots. Many of them look like the same website with different domain names. This one ( ) appears to be written by humans and to offer real reporting and insights. I'd be interested to hear other opinions of this resource. | mbhesms

02/8/2017 21:56 | Presentation is now available if anyone is out there... | 1gw
02/8/2017 21:12 | Looks to me like in-line on revenue vs guidance, a beat on earnings against both guidance and analyst estimates and a bit light on 3Q earnings guidance vs analyst estimates. Edit: and if I take the 5c beat on adj earnings (vs median analyst estimate) for 2Q and take it off the median analyst estimate for 3Q then I get an (adjusted) estimate which is within the guidance Arris are giving on 3Q earnings. So overall, between 2Q actuals and 3Q guidance I'd say pretty much bang in line on earnings. | 1gw
