17/7/2017 17:51 | One possibly significant factor in trying to read across from Technicolor to Arris is the differing exposure to xrate. For Arris I think there's a chance we're moving from currency impact being a headwind to a tailwind. The dollar index has I think weakened considerably this year, and specifically against the Euro the Dollar has weakened. Euro/Dollar 1.06 at end-2016, 1.07 at 31/3/17 but around 1.15 now. So Arris should see a translation benefit (relative to end-2016 or end-1Q 17) for at least some overseas earnings into dollars where Technicolor may be seeing a translation cost for some overseas (and in particular US) earnings into euros. | 1gw
17/7/2017 17:09 | Seeking Alpha snippet from last earnings call :- Simon M. Leopold - Raymond James & Associates, Inc. That's good. So, in terms of the issues with memory, understand that that's pressuring the gross margin currently but given that you've offered some full year expectations for earnings, what assumptions have you made in terms of the memory cost pressures, are you assuming that they stay where they are, they get worse, they get better and what's the timeline where you stop forecasting memory cost? Bruce William McClelland - ARRIS International Plc Yeah. So I guess the way to think of it is in two pieces. One is around the DRAM component, the other is around Flash, and both we've got visibility and kind of supply locked in through at least through third quarter, given the lead times and the fact that we're running our own factories. Our production planning goes out at least that far. And then I think we've got a pretty good view on what the fourth quarter looks like from a, I'll call it a, not to exceed perspective. So that's really the way we've come at it and again, I think we're incrementally positive on, as Dave said, both revenue and margin and ultimately on EPS here. A – [00466D-E Dave Potts]>: And, I don't think our perspective on memory has changed much from when we were together in New York, to be honest with you. | andyble

These epic cityscapes and landscapes, portrayed from a fixed camera angle for up to 30 hours capture fleeting moments of humanity as light passes in front of his lens over the course of full day. Blending these images into a single photograph takes months to complete. Day to Night has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning as well as dozens of other prominent media outlets and, with a grant from the National Geographic Society, was recently extended to include America’s National Parks in celebration of their centennial anniversary. The series will be published by TASCHEN as a monograph in 2017. | freddie01
