The Tree Project is an awesome ongoing art project by an artist couple known as the Zonenkinder Art Collective, who travel throughout Europe painting wonderfully expressive faces on trees.

“The Tree Project” is an ongoing art project since 2006 inspired by the beauty and the decay of nature. We are constantly in search of new forms of expressions and we love to play with unusual surfaces and locations. In the Tree Project we visualize the atmosphere of the moment, the usually hidden spirit and dreams of the trees and the the living nature which surrounds us. By painting eyes, faces and grimaces on the trees, by ornamenting and dressing them we emphasize our close and unique connection with nature. Thereby reflecting that trees are exceptional and beautiful living individuals. This stands in contrast to the often destructive and indifferent interaction with the environment of mankind. Please note that we take environmental issues serious: for all tree-paintings shown here we use natural and biodegradable colors that will fade away after a while.

Louisville, KY-based artist Laura Skinner captured a Tornado in a bottle. Is it a full-size tornado in an impossibly enormous bottle or an incredibly rare miniature tornado? Depends on how you look at it, which is what makes it awesome!

Today the Department of Awesome Natural Phenomena is marveling at these awesome light pillars witnessed and captured on camera in North Bay, Canada by photographer Timothy Joseph Elzinga. Light pillars are a stunning atmospheric optical phenomena that occur in extremely cold weather when light bounces of ice crystals in the air, making it appear as though aliens are dropping in for a visit.

Today the Department of Luminous Light Painting is delighting in the work of Helsinki-based artist Hannu Huhtamo, who creates light paintings that look like otherworldly plants and phantoms. No photo manipulation is used to create these images. Huhtamo simply uses flashlights and other light tools along with the long-exposure setting on his camera.

Charter all-digital plans for TWC & BHN. Note the 2-year roll-out plan which coincides pretty much with Comcast's remaining X1 rollout schedule.

"In the second quarter of 2017, Charter will also restart all-digital efforts in the approximately 40% of Legacy TWC's footprint and 60% of Legacy Bright House's footprint that are not yet all-digital. All-digital allows Charter to offer more advanced products and services, and provides residential customers with twoway digital set-tops, which offer better picture quality, an interactive programming guide and video on demand on all TV outlets in the home. Charter intends to complete the all-digital conversion in Legacy TWC and Legacy Bright House markets in less than 2 years, with a minimum Internet speed offering of 100 Mbps in many markets."

Good competent performance from Bruce McC I thought. Perhaps he's slightly more charismatic as a speaker than Bob S was, although there's not much in it.

No surprises as far as I could tell. Central & Latin America heavy going because of the xrate issue, but encouragingly Europe called out (along with Australia & somewhere else) for strong performance.

With apologies in advance in the event of any imminent plunge, encouraging to see the share price shake off what looks like news of a reduction in Maverick Capital's holding.

Leonard looked aghast as he watched his friend sink into the cesspool. They had been visiting a mutual friend when they decided to follow up on their mutual love of sewerage systems.
Fernando was 54 and had been voted sewage worker of the year. This had gone slightly to his head and the two friends had imbibed a few sherberts too many at their local wine and beer emporium.
As the cesspool dragged Fernando deeper into its maw, Leonard panicked and screamed. Unfortunately he had almost lost his voice due to a bad cold. All that emerged from his vocal apparatus was a strangled squawk reminiscent of a constipated raven.
Soon Fernando disappeared into the foetid mess.
'Good bye my trusty friend' whispered Leonard. 'I will not see your like again in sewage or drainage circles at least'
Leonard walked home disconsolately. He dropped into the hostelry they had frequented earlier and ordered two shandies. 'This is for you Fernando' he said to himself silently as he knocked back the amber nectars.
THE END

It looks like those earnings estimates are taken from the same source as the Nasdaq uses:

I think the ones on the Arris investor site are more comprehensive, but not necessarily more up-to-date. The Arris site shows 8 estimates tightly bunched between 69c and 71c, but this is almost the same spread (69-72c) as they were showing at least as far back as 30th October.

Forward guidance will also be key next week and I wonder if they will be able to give full-year guidance (as they did for the first time at the post-merger investor event last March) or whether they will revert to next-quarter only.

The neighborhood of Hazaribagh runs along the bank of the Buriganga River as it flows through Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Its name means “a thousand gardens” in Urdu, but you won’t see much green. Instead, the streets are lined with mounds and mounds of leather. Hazaribagh is home to the country’s $1 billion tanning industry, a place where thousands work in the factories and chemicals makes the river slick and shiny.

Wednesday this week should be a good day with the presentation to Goldman Sachs then the following week we will have the fourth quarter results on the 22nd February.
Once again I will take to the high seas on a trip to the Arctic Circle commencing 22nd February for 12 days. Looking forward to seeing the Aurora Borealis while in the very north of Norway. Also looking forward to the results because there is a gut feel that they are going to be pretty good.
