04/10/2015 19:27 | As a trained accountant i think i know logic but aside from that if you were to make a mathematical calculation you have to compare like with like and not apples and pears | dave444
04/10/2015 19:09 | Better than that Loverat. LOL. | papillon
04/10/2015 19:07 | Interesting week coming up. I think we may just have christmas come early this year. | 78steve
04/10/2015 19:03 | Does anyone think OXS might have had a case to answer regarding the reasons as to why the Uzbecks "confiscated" the assets? Could it be a case of the Quantum taking into account proportions of blame? | a.fewbob
04/10/2015 19:01 | Agree with papillon - on this occasion. This is a BB to discuss the merits and award. Most of the estimates I am reading here lately are based on something and not plucked out of the air. Please remember - no one is saying we are experts or indeed should be expert to comment. But a half intelligent investor can weigh up a set of facts and figures and reach reasonable/plausible conclusions. If we are really criticising each other's opinions because someone is not a lawyer, arbitrator or actuary we might as well stop posting. You armchair generals and amateurs play nice now. Papillon - you got A level Maths - well done! | loverat
04/10/2015 18:12 | You have an illogical brain, dave444. FACT. My US$300m WASN'T plucked out of the "sky" as you put it. It was based on the percentage of their independent expert assessed UNCITRAL claim of US$142m that RUR were finally awarded by their arbitration panel (US$35m). FACT, buddy. I would never "pluck" figures out of the sky. However I was only using that as an EXAMPLE. Of course I hope that OXS receive a much higher percentage of their expert, independently assessed, claim than RUR did. PS. I possess the mathematical qualifications that prove I have a logical mind. I doubt if you do. | papillon
04/10/2015 17:20 | Edge in, I don't think I've ever been negative about my OXS investment, please find a post of mine where I have been?I have been bored at times, and shown signs of fatigue on occasion, but I've always remained confident in my OXS investment. | festario
04/10/2015 16:56 | I suppose another unknown is even if oxs win, how long could it take for the settlement. I presume there has been a prescidence set? | shaktinicola
04/10/2015 16:53 | Thank you marmar | shaktinicola
04/10/2015 15:54 | I think i have an extremely logical brain as i go by expert opinion not figures plucked out of the sky like you have just demonstrated with at least $300m | dave444
04/10/2015 15:48 | dave444 4 Oct'15 - 14:19 - 24587 of 24594 7 0 The expert advice not that of amateurs on a BB is between $552.4m and $1250.5m excluding restitution on Khandiza and that is what I am looking at not what people with limited experience opine. >>>>> Yes, dave444, that is the expert advice; the expert advice of experts paid for by OXS/Calunius. I'm pretty certain that the Uzbek Govt would have paid other experts to come up with much lower figures whose expert opinion would come into play if the arbitration panel decide that OXS were in the right and only the size of the award has to be evaluated!! You haven't got a very logical brain I'm afraid, dave444. You have difficulty in seeing both sides of the argument. The size of the award the arbitration panel make will no doubt be influenced by which set of experts they favour. Let's hope it's the experts employed by OXS/Calunius!! Personally I'm looking for at least US$300m, before all expenses, but hopefully more. Somewhere between US$552m and US$1250m is perfectly possible and I would be overjoyed to see it. | papillon
04/10/2015 15:14 | What professional expertise do you have to come up with the numbers? There is a professional guidance of between $400m to $1.2bn but what will be awarded only judges can say.So lets wait for their decision. Been here for 18 months and another few weeks more is ok.Good luck all | jungmana
04/10/2015 14:53 | What the final settlement will be only the judges can say. We can all just pluck numbers from the sky but is best to just sit tight and wait for the decision. | jungmana
04/10/2015 14:47 | ShaktiNicola, 12p is possible if they agree to convert remaining CLNs before verdict. That's my opinion about it. | marmar80
04/10/2015 14:29 | Weren't those other cases which were ultimately settled at 20%-25% of their original claim also independently valued during their proceedings, yet still fell far short? | 99jeremiah
04/10/2015 14:19 | The expert advice not that of amateurs on a BB is between $552.4m and $1250.5m excluding restitution on Khandiza and that is what I am looking at not what people with limited experience opine. | dave444
04/10/2015 13:49 | I believe that the average uncitral win is 20% of the claimed valuation from the plaintiff. Assuming the OXS ask was at the mid point of independent estimates, then that works out at $179m.I certainly believe that OXS have a better than average case, and genuinely expect at least $400m | john6185
04/10/2015 13:14 | This bb runs around in a circle. All this points have been discussed a thousand times over last 2 years. All we can do is wait for the decision. If you are in for a win just sit tight, if you think a loss then just sell up.Simples !!! | jungmana |
